Nutroots Meltdown
Just in case no one's watching the Lefty blogs today - they're starting to implode. And all it's taking to make it happen ... is a mirror. All the games they've always accused the Right of playing are coming to pass ... on their side of the aisle. They have seen the small-minded face of hatred and it is their own.
Ugly Nasty Mysogenistic Racism
With no discernible differences between the candidates, this is now a massive identity fight. There's a generational split, a gender split, and a racial split. I talked to a Gen X Obama supporter yesterday who told me that she wants the boomers out of power, but she remembers having her mouth taped shut in sixth grade for talking too much in class, a punishment never meeted out to the boys. And so she has strong sympathy for Clinton, especially when the media picks on her.
Anyway, Pam Spaulding has a good post on the outpouring of racist crap from Clinton surrogates like Andrew Cuomo even as Obama campaign chair Jesse Jackson attacked Clinton for refusing to cry over Katrina.
I'm beginning to miss the days we used to argue over electability.
Yesterday Obama's national co-chair Jesse Jackson Jr. said African Americans in South Carolina should worry because Hillary cried about her appearance but didn't cry over Hurricane Katrina. Then Michael Eric Dyson went on Hardball and said Hillary was speaking in racist code when she she said she was the best person to be President following her verklempt moment.
Now Andrew Cuomo, scumbag machine politician par excellence, refers to Obama's "shuck and jive" performance at a press conference. This on the heels of the Bob Kerrey "secular medrassa" nonsense and Bill Shaheen's suggestion that Obama was a drug dealer.
I'm not buying the "these people don't speak for me" argument. Both campaigns are outrageously controlling when it comes to who is allowed to speak on their behalf.
There's a historic moment going on -- the two front runner candidates for the Democratic nomination, the people most likely to be President of the United States, are an African American man and a woman. And at the end of the nomination process, we're all going to have to come together no matter who the winner is or we'll be looking at a President who wants to continue George Bush's immoral war.
If either campaign thinks that winning the nomination is worth tearing the party apart by igniting America's sexist and racist strains to their own benefit, it's stupid and shortsighted. Just because the Republicans will go there in the general is not a reason to start now.
Digby PamSpaulding take your pick and they're just getting started.

This is not ending up as a game of "last man standing"! This is coming down to "last victim standing"!

I just saw a blurb that like a dummy I didn't get a link for that said KOS is urging the nutroots to vote for Romney in Michigan. Could this even be remotely true? I refuse to give KOS traffic to find out.

Someone had better continue the war on terror (lefties call it Bush's war) or you will live (unless you die in one of the first attacks) to see millions die in the burning streets of America. Islam is more dangerous to the free world than Nazism and Communism rolled into one. They prepared their idots by brainwashing them from the day they were born and even the educated ? of them can't shake the brainwashing. They would still rather slice your head off than eat, and some call it a religion. Doesn't matter what their station is life is, they are all terrorists underneath.

Funny, you must not be reading more than the tag lines. The general disgust in these blogs centers around the rather vapid and shallow coverage by the MSM and how this is having somewhat bizarre repercussions in the populace. More than a few have suggested that Hillary's win in NH stems in part from the media's trash talking of her right up to election night.
There is a lot of talk about the Bradley Effect and who's getting various demographics - women, youth vote, unions, minorities - but no one seems particularly surprised by Hillary's female support or Barak's youth support. Go back and re-read. You might actually learn something other than "OMG! Liberal Blogz Are Doomed!"
