Geez. The NYT's Caucus blog headlines that Romney is even linking John McCain to John Kerry!! McCain has passed legislation with two of the most liberal Dems in the Senate - Kennedy and Feingold. Linking him to Kerry is like giving McCain a break. Not sure why the NYT's sees Kerry as such a big deal.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—Mitt Romney pounded his rival, Senator John McCain, this morning with a series of epithets among conservative Republicans: McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman and, well, Kerry-McCain.
The first three, of course, are bipartisan pieces of legislation Mr. McCain is known for. McCain-Feingold is a campaign finance measure widely reviled by conservatives; McCain-Kennedy is shorthand for the failed immigration reform effort in the Senate, which would have offered ways illegal immigrants to become citizens, provided they cleared certain hurdles; and McCain-Lieberman is a proposal that Mr. McCain has pushed for several years to limit carbon-dioxide emissions with a “cap and trade” system.

"---
McCain-Feingold...
McCain-Kennedy...
McCain-Lieberman...
...erm,
Kerry-McCain.

Well, I'll be.
Romney's finally chambering a few rounds that might actually get to the point. Too bad Fred didn't do this in SC.
