Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is caught up in a scandal involving a whistle-blower and cheating on his wife with an aide, also married. Both appear to have committed perjury, as well. But neither the AP nor the Detroit Free Press seems to have been able to figure out his party affiliation. Could it be he's Independent, thrown in with NYC's Bloomberg, perhaps? Not a chance. He addressed the Democrat's convention in 2004.
DETROIT (AP) - Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick exchanged romantic text messages with a top aide, contradicting their denials in court that they had romantic ties, a newspaper reported.
The county prosecutor's office declined to comment on the legal implications of the report, posted Wednesday on the Detroit Free Press' Web site. A conviction of lying under oath can bring up to 15 years' imprisonment.
Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty testified last summer in a police whistle-blower lawsuit and denied any sexual or romantic ties in 2002 and 2003. But the Free Press said it examined about 14,000 text messages on Beatty's city-issued pager from those years and found many examples of such ties.
Kilpatrick is married, and Beatty was married at the time.
"I'm madly in love with you," Kilpatrick wrote on Oct. 3, 2002.

hehe. If he wasn't wearing a wetsuit and 17-year-old boys weren't involved, is there even a story here? I'm just saying...
But seriously, if an infidelity scandal with the Detroit Mayor is the best you can field as "Democratic Super Scandal", you really need to look harder. Surely there's another William Jefferson you can pine after.
But hey, at least you can get Democrats to testify. God forbid if he'd been a Republican (Josh Bolton, Harriet Miers, Karl Rove), he'd have declared some sort of Mayoral Executive Privilege, flipped the courts the bird, and accused every investigator in the case of violating national security by siding while working for the terrorists.
Maybe Kwame can get some sort of clemency on this perjury charge from Governor Jennifer Granholm (D). After all, as anyone can clearly see, there was no underlying crime.

I see a bright future among the Democratics for this Irish lover-boy Kilpatrick, possibly a run for POYUS. Later, after he finished his second term, his lover-girl could also run. The Dems like a man who has affairs with his employees. It is called sexual harnessment, I believe.

You'll blog on this but not the (R) who got busted for terrorism?
Posted by: TheSpartan | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 09:57 AM
Supporting terrorism, or actually cutting folks' heads off, which has never bothered you before, The; why now?
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:13 AM
Yep, Spartan, that is how it should be. Your side does all the blogging necessary on the Muslim terrorist who happens to be a Republican, even though the terrorists hate Republicans, cause they go to war against them. Maybe the Republican label was a terrorist device. Ever thought about that?
Posted by: templar knight | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:15 AM
Great point, Fred! One I eagerly await an answer to.
Posted by: templar knight | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:19 AM
A republican device? Lol, more like he saw a chance to make money and didn't care who he was working with.
Posted by: TheSpartan | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:20 AM
On behalf of Larry Craig, I say shame on you.
Posted by: chris | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:27 AM
Oh, and by the way, Islam boy, the point of Dan's post was the fact that Kwame's party affiliation wasn't reported by the media. And many of us just can't quite figure out why. Do you have any ideas?
"...more like he saw a chance to make money and didn't care who he was working with."
Yep, he reminds me of the media types who betray their country by devulging classified information. Only this guy is getting prosecuted. The others have gotten off scott free.
And Sparty, you didn't bother to comment on Fred's excellent point. Cat got your tongue?

?????????????? chris ???????????

Larry Craig and chris are bathroom lovers. Everyone, please, give them their privacy, or the ACLU will intervene on their behalf. Amen!

You know Temp, I'm beginning to think chris and Moe live together, sit at the keyboard together, eat together, and do everything together, as if they were one and the same moke.

LOL! ROTFL!!!

Sorry...mokes.

Funny that I now only read conservative blogs and I know about the slime ball republican that was assisting the terrorists. Where did I get the information? No need to identify a democrat as a criminal (99 44/100% are), just read the article and if there is no party identified, they are democrats. The democrats are doing great in picking candidates for POTUS. Three up and coming, One female (lawyer) with a long history of crime, One black (lawyer) with a know connection to crime and the mob, one Silky hair (lawyer) who made million practicing witchcraft, channeling the unborn and dead to juries. Anyone proud of these three kooks?
Posted by: Scrapiron | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:38 AM
I am proud they are Democratics, Scrap.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:41 AM

Is this the "excellent" question you are referring to? It was so baseless and pointless (and inarticulate)it didn't need a response.
Posted by: TheSpartan | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:50 AM
Them there A-Rabs are gonna come and blowed up our Walmarts and nascar tracks. Then they gonna take our fat wives and F-150's they are. We need to stand up and send them back to Mexico or wherever they come from.

But back to the story, The. Don't you think this Irish lover-boy is a gentleman you could support to fill the top office?
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 11:15 AM
"The democrats are doing great in picking candidates for POTUS. Three up and coming, One female (lawyer) with a long history of crime" ....
For instance?
"One black (lawyer) with a know connection to crime and the mob" ....
Proof?
"[O]ne Silky hair (lawyer) who made million[s] practicing witchcraft, channeling the unborn and dead to juries."
"Witchcraft"? What does this very serious and reasoned statement even refer to? Please ask Rush and get back to me.
Seriously, I want to understand how one makes up stuff about people they hate, with a complete lack of shame or self-awareness. It's for my pending thesis.

Now don't sell yourself short (especially in this market). All you have to know about how a liar thinks is within your grasp. Simply ask yourself why you chose to identify yourself as a conservative when you are just another liberal troll. Your thesis could be finished this afternoon.

OMG!! ROTFL!!! Yes, I would love to know the answer to that ditty myself and request a copy of this thesis your writing. Why dont you start those answers with yourself? How do you make up stuff about people you hate, with a complete lack of shame or self-awareness? Then a real expert to consult would be our own boobindabasement. An ungrateful child of privilige who appears to HATE everyone and everything. Please rush that thesis to publication.

Hi All,
I'm from the area here... and this is big news. I look for a resignation soon. The Detroit people are PISSED. There's a unwritten rule around these part. You do not lie in Public office, or at least of you do, don't get caught. Detroit'ers want his head.

P.S. I will be blogging about this shortly... :)

Totally Heterosexual Conservative, if you're rich you can make shit up and not care because its all about those sweet sweet tax cuts. Would you call Hillary Clinton and murdering, drug-peddling, cuckolded lesbian slut for tens of thousands of dollars off your next tax return? Cause it sounds like a good deal to me.
If you aren't rich - but you're a red neck from Alabama and a proud sixth generation member of the KKK, then the thought of a scary Afro-man from Kenya taking up the reigns of power in the US must send chills down your spine.
And if you're just the run-of-the-mill Islamo-phobe, Edwards hasn't said a damn thing about nuking Iran, so he's disqualified by fiat.
That really only leaves you with Multiple-Choice Mitt (is there anyone he doesn't appeal to?), Holy Roller Huckabee, or Stumpy McPain. Voting for anyone else is practically unConstitutional and should get you indefinite detention at Gitmo.

See what I meant THC: Wasn't LameLama eloquent? He usually only speaks in bumber sticker slogans but being a child of privilige, he knows all about the rich. Of course he has this really pathetic problem with farmers for some reason but he's a typical demonrat, too much better than everyone else to even write a check to charity. He wants to take 1/2 of Barbaa Streisands money and let someone else pay for a change.

Moe is a really angry and rabid llama today. He's had his fur burned pretty badly lately and has been troller rollered. Hope he goes back to work soon. If you wanna play socialist, you gotta pay, socialist. Thanks for your service.

Posted by: TheSpartan | Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 01:06 PM
No answer from the fellow to whom the query was originally addressed. Check. I can understand that; it takes time to get back. Lots of other stuff from some other fellows about socialists, "trolls" (i.e. individuals who ask you to actually back up certain accusations - you know the ones being wholly avioded now that they've been challenged), and bumper sticker arguments against making bumper sticker arguments. None of which, of course, having anything to do with, well, anything in my estimation.
I see that since moving the goal posts into the parking lot no longer works, you all have embarked upon setting the goal posts on fire, while sending the marching band on to the field. This is not the sort of very serious and well-reasoned argument I've heard is so often present at conservative blogs.

Spartyboy: Now that's funny, I dont care who you are.
THC There's no reason to go attacking me for sending you to our experts of hate. Since I do not hate but abut three people whom you've never heard of, I cannot explain why people grab a thread and keep pulling it no matter what "argument" (discussion and debate are less hateful words) i splaced in thier path. Nor can I explain partisan thought processes. I have no idea why ANYONE is so dense as to be blind to the fact that there is not a nickles worth of difference between these people we keep sending to represent us. Opinions. Do you want an opinion?? Well I think perhaps in some cases here we have a lack of life experiences. Some people are still young enough that thier whole "thought process" is very influenced by the authority figures in thier life. Ie, "That professor with the ponytail is really cute, he must be a genius" or "Mommy and Daddy say the demonrats are bad because everytime they look at thier checks half of it is gone." Some people are insulated; Like Warren Buffett. How easy is it to say you dont pay enough taxes when you're worth billions? And of course, if you're on minimum wAge, the "rich" have too much. Of course, when you're poor. Who the "rich" are would surprise the crap out of people who still make less than six figures or just over. SO I guess the answer to your "Where does hate come from?" question is; it comes from ignorance just like anything else that holds us down.
Now, get busy on that thesis and credit me

To the "Totally" something. Where have you been? I have been waiting so long for a highly ethical person like you to come along to enjoy very serious and well-reasoned arguments. But just when I was about to realize my dream of reasoned discourse some asshat comes along and writes:
"Seriously, I want to understand how one makes up stuff about people they hate, with a complete lack of shame or self-awareness. It's for my pending thesis."
Or:
"If you aren't rich - but you're a red neck from Alabama and a proud sixth generation member of the KKK, then the thought of a scary Afro-man from Kenya taking up the reigns of power in the US must send chills down your spine."
Or:
"On behalf of Larry Craig, I say shame on you."
Sock puppets are people too. I thank you for your lofty and sensitive self-awareness, high-mindedness and...and...well you get the idea.

""One black (lawyer) with a know connection to crime and the mob..."
Proof?"
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-rezkojan23,0,3964061.story
The **connection** is there. The outstanding issue is if that connection actually matters. It might not.
But then again ... it might. That's the way it works with "connections".
""[O]ne Silky hair (lawyer) who made million[s] practicing witchcraft, channeling the unborn and dead to juries."
"Witchcraft"?"
The way I read that, 'witchcraft' is synonymous with personal injury loyyerdom.
And there's something to be said for that.
"Seriously, I want to understand how one makes up stuff about people they hate, with a complete lack of shame or self-awareness"
Seriously?
You could axe yerself. You'd know just as well as anyone else.
"If you aren't rich - but you're a red neck from Alabama and a proud sixth generation member of the KKK..."
I lived in both Alabama [in the early 80s when it was not UNcool to be KKK, stationed at Maxwell], and in IL from the late 80s until this very minute [when it is exTREMEly uncool to be klan], and there is more klan activity in IL -- a "blue" state -- than there ever was in AL -- deeply "red".
"We only drive Americun cars 'round these parts."
That was comical. Too bad the writers' strike doesn't allow scabs.

Somebody needs to go PATCO on that bunch. Maybe we can get some actual talent with one original idea among them. It'd be fun to get mid-way through Law and Order before figuring it out. Who misses them, except for the people who are out of work because of them.
