Is The RNC Out Of Touch?
Is the RNC out of touch? Some might say, yes. I've alway wondered what someone whistling past the graveyard looked like in print. Now I know.
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Mike Duncan believes Republicans can beat either of the two top Democrats racing for their party’s nomination.
As the referee, Duncan said it’s not his place to comment on the individual campaigns. He did say the GOP nominee’s strategy for winning the general election would depend on the nominee.
For example, he said former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani would have different strategies, although he sought to portray both as candidates the GOP could rally around.
“It’s a different emphasis. It’s not a different coalition,” he said. The GOP has “a lot of great choices” in its presidential field, Duncan added.
They better hope for a Clinton victory in the primary. That motivation for the Right is the only chance they've got.

Spiked the RNC water cooler with LSD, someone did.

You are awfully fast to write off the republicans 10 months before the first vote. In that length of time Shrillary may shoot Slick for bonking another aide and then get caught doing a Monica on Hussein in the public square or anything in between.

They have been showing the turnout numbers for each party during the primaries, and things aren't looking good for the right...

Although Scrapiron makes a good point.

Is the RNC out of touch? Yes. There, that was simple.
The reasons WHY they are out of touch would take all day to go through.

Stem cells are wicked. George Bush is a hero.
No, you patriots are right on the mark.

The RNC is no more out of touch than the DNC. That's how we get partisans who are sure thier rich white guy is smarter than the other rich white guy. (well maybe this election is a wee bit different) They gather power, pay back thier rich "supporters" and we get bridges caving in, people who can't "afford" health care and our jobs going to China. It really is a sick system and we desperately need a third party (a real one kids) to give us a shot in the arm. Yeah, 3-4 cycles and they would be the same old idiots we keep returning to every two years but let's take a chance.

It would be interesting to see (in my lifetime) the GOP to go the way of the Whigs, and to see a true conservative party (perhaps the revived Federalist Party? Or perhaps Tri-Cons fleeing the shinking GOP ship to swell the ranks of the US Constitution Party or some other third party that has some principles worth supporting?)
