Is The McTax Man Really Back?
Not for long, at least not if Rudy has anything to say about it:
John McCain Not A Fi$cal Conservative
“Rudy Giuliani is the only fiscal conservative in the race and it’s easy to see why. John McCain not only voted with the Democrats against the Bush tax cuts twice, he’s voted over 50 times for higher taxes. With a record like that, you can’t tell if John McCain will stand up to the Democrats in Washington who want to raise taxes or stand with them.” — Katie Levinson, Rudy Giuliani Communications Director.
So what will the straight talk be this time out? Hand wringing and blaming Rudy for being so negative? That seems to be the standard response from both John McCain and Mike Huckabee to having their records exposed.
Nah. I'm sure the fifty votes for higher taxes were just what was good for America and the rubes in the grass roots are too stupid to figure that one out. That's why we need St. John or Huckabee to lead us to the promised land.
Riiiight.
Welcome to the world of closed primaries, Senator McCain - and finally another player who wants votes from you, not just your competition. New Hampshire and South Carolina were like homefield to the Senator. Florida, not so much.
Huckabee: McCain-lover, Mitt-killer
COLUMBIA, S.C. — For people reading between the lines, Mike Huckabee’s concession speech here Saturday night dropped some enticing hints that his presidential campaign now has an agenda other than getting elected president.
Huckabee’s new role: Mitt killer.
The former Arkansas governor threw air kisses on primary night to winner John McCain, praising him for “running a civil and a good and a decent campaign.”
God, I hate it when men kiss. Blecch!!!!

what is your problem with McCain dude. He's really the most electable of all your sad group of candidates. Rudi would have been more electable if he could have done a better job of keeping his corrupt nature under wraps. It's a shame he didn't right?
McCain could win the general. Romney not likely. And seriously, you're attacking his conservative credentials? Because McCain doesn't back the Bush tax cuts? Please. With a huge deficit we shouldn't be talking about tax cuts like this. It is irresponsible. I would rather have higher taxes and no deficit than what we have now (lower taxes and an historic deficit). You wingers are the most irresponsible governors this generation has seen.
You would rather people's children be forced to sacrifice their entire lives than you having to lift a single finger in sacrifice. It shows in your support of Bush's deficits and tax cuts and it shows in your support of his management of Iraq. You don't care about America; you only care about yourself.

Cut services. Cut taxes. Weren't we the ones complaining about the GOP's spending like democrats?
McCain only voted against the tax cuts because he wanted spending cuts to go with them. McCain is the true fiscal conservative.

How about we cut that really expensive service in the middle east? We don't seem to have been getting good returns on it. If it was a stock, wouldn't a good little capitalist have sold it a long time ago?
Posted by: LOL | Monday, January 21, 2008 at 02:45 PM
I suppose you would have been one of those who didn't want to invest in that far more expensive excursion in Europe.
Freedom isn't free, my friend. If you don't chip in your $1.05, who will?

"But McCain has not entirely abandoned "straight talk" in seeking Republican anointment. I asked him Saturday whether he knew of any instance of an economic stimulus such as Bush's proposed $800-per-taxpayer handout actually averting a recession. He said that he did not and that the proposal bothered him."
McCain. The true fiscal conservative (that pisses off all of the posers).

So, Roy - McCain honestly wants to cut government spending, huh? Hmm. Yeah, tax increases are just the ticket, I suppose. Where's the logic in that? If you want the gov. to spend less, you tax less and don't vote for spending either.

LOL, who is to comments as breasts are to women, i.e., they aren't actually needed to have fun but do add to the fun, shows he never heard of Jimmy Carter:
"I would rather have higher taxes and no deficit than what we have now (lower taxes and an historic deficit). You wingers are the most irresponsible governors this generation has seen."
I'm sure glad he wants higher taxes, although he doesn't seem to be employed and as such may be eligible for a tax (he doesn't pay) rebate.
And this statement:
"You don't care about America; you only care about yourself."
is really quite amazing. He reveals the secret liberal raison d'etre, that is, HE CARES, we don't. This makes him beloved by man and nature with forgiveness granted to him forever for all his bad habits. Lucky guy. Not a smart guy, but lucky. Good intentions are everything to these liberals. The linchpin of their liberal religion.

"McCain only voted against the tax cuts because he wanted spending cuts to go with them. McCain is the true fiscal conservative."
Sadly, no. McCain's arguments against the Bush tax cuts employed Democratic, populist tax-and-spend rhetoric, rather than the spending argument he's using now. I don't have the link with me, but I could go find one...ah, here's one:
http://www.clubforgrowth.org/2007/03/arizona_senator_john_mccains_t.php
The relevant section is the "taxes" section, but they also illustrate several other problems with McCain's economic policy.
So now McCain is attempting to triangulate on his tax position in the hope that Republicans have short memories. Seems bad.

LOL again: "You would rather people's children be forced to sacrifice their entire lives than you having to lift a single finger in sacrifice."
How dare you, you idiot? Go talk to the Army and Marines about sacrifice, then come back and tell us about your amazing sacrifices, you twerp.

I don't know. Does being against Bush's $800 per tax payer stimulus package also mean you're against "tax cuts"? Or does it mean you believe in market self-correction?
Posted by: Roy Mustang | Monday, January 21, 2008 at 03:17 PM
Yes, Dan. McCain wants to cut government spending. His record against pork is second to none.

Do re mi mi mi:
"We've not much longer here to stay
For in a month or two
We'll bid farewell to cadet gray
And don the Army blue..."
"We'll live in fame
Or go down in flame"
"We will fight our country's battles
On land and on the sea"
Ponder, oh sacrificial lamb, my poor LOL.

How dare I?
You want your war to cost nothing (no tax cuts) and don't even want to go fight in it. Who among your conservative leaders is actually making a sacrifice for the cause? I thought fighting Iraq was the Great Generational Struggle that is equal to fighting Nazis.
Posted by: LOL | Monday, January 21, 2008 at 03:51 PM
You want the war stopped so your party can get their hands on more money to divert to your favorite socialist programs, some of which I suspect would directly benefit you. Bad luck with that.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Monday, January 21, 2008 at 04:28 PM
So, LOL, I guess you must be voting for McCain since his son is "making a sacrfice for the cause".
By the way, LOL, we no longer have a draft. Those who are in Iraq are volunteers. Shove that up your little hippie ass.

"Huckabee: McCain-lover, Mitt-killer"
Huckabee has a thing for older men. Chuck's outburst against McCain was simply jealousy at work.
Posted by: Roy Mustang | Monday, January 21, 2008 at 05:17 PM
I would vote for McCain if we were a one-party country and I could only pick between Republicans. His stance on torture is admirable. Romney's "The most important right we have is the right be kept alive" smacks of extreme cowardice. But that's why wingers prefer him.
