I already pointed out the danger to the GOP base Huckabee would present as President.
Under Huckabee: taxes up, government up, Democrats up and Republicans down. In the end, Republicans may prefer Huckabee keep his vertical politics to himself.
Take a look at what he did for the party in Arkansas. If he gets the nod, fiscal and small government conservatives would be wise to stay home in the Fall. Do you really want to vote for someone who would destroy the best parts of the Reagan coalition? Better to live and fight another year with a candidate acceptable to all.
Shortly after becoming governor in 1996, one of Huckabee's top aides predicted that his boss would do for Arkansas what Gov. Carroll Campbell did for South Carolina, meaning that Arkansas would cast aside its Democratic past and whole-heartedly embrace Republicanism by the time he left office.
Yeah ? that didn't happen.

"Huckabee: A Disaster For The GOP" Quite right. Quite right. But how much good will McCain, Romney, or Giuliani do for the GOP? Alas, not a single one of these worthies is a real Republican.
McCain: a high-tax, anti-free speech, big-government, eccentric, who does understand we are in a war, but doesn't understand the importance of the constitution. What he does seem to understand, that I don't, is that legislation that makes it very difficult to elect non-incumbents is good for the country and term limits are bad for the country.
Romney: a big-government lover who worked hard to bring socialistic and involuntary medical insurance to Massachusetts wants to do it again for the entire country. He just said so. Why, because everybody likes something for "nothing". Does any one out there believe this man has any political beliefs other than elect Romney? Managing a business is not like managing the government. In a business the manager is a real hire and fire boss. Not so in government. It, assisted by a powerful group of unions, has a life of its own. Yes he was a governor. But so was a professional wrestler and so is a professional body-builder. So what.
Giuliani: an anti-self defense, New York lawyer and prosecutor (like New York state's wonderful new governor who convicted business people in the MSM but failed to do so during actual trials). He did a very good job as mayor when New York needed it most. He seems to, like McCain, understand the Islamist threat. But he has, also like McCain, strange fugue moments, as when he conducted a personal phone call while giving a speech.
Thompson is the only real Republican in the race and we Republicans don't seem to give a s---. I am having a very hard time with this primary.
