Updated and bumped: Here's the transcript. How well do you think this will play with people outside of the Nutroots? The nerve of this miserable, nasty, evil biatch! Forget Petraeus, forget the troops. The Iraqis listen to every word Hillary utters. Can you freaking believe this???? The woman, and I use the word loosely, has no shame. Go on, give us Hillary to run against in 08. This conniving worm needs to be fully exposed.
Who the hell does she think she is? She's the humiliated spouse of a philandering ex-president who disgraced the office and was impeached. And this should give you some additional insight as to her malignant attitude toward the military. It's all about Hillary, as far as Hillary is concerned.
The point of the surge was to quickly move the Iraqi government and Iraqi people. That is only now beginning to happen, and I believe in large measure because the Iraqi government, they watch us, they listen to us. I know very well that they follow everything that I say. And my commitment to begin withdrawing our troops in January of 2009 is a big factor, as it is with Senator Obama, Senator Edwards, those of us on the Democratic side. It is a big factor in pushing the Iraqi government to finally do what they should have been doing all along.
Update: Hillary is now giving credit for success in Iraq on the election not the surge. Russert brought up the de-Bathification laws passed yesterday, Hillary said it was because of the election and Democrat positions. She said she would not support continuing current troop levels even if Petraeus requests it. She's claiming the surge basically failed and its only because of her and other's commitment to removing troops that we're seeing progress now.
I'm watching Hillary Clinton on Meet The Press. She just made a stupid comment at the beginning of her response on the whole race card issue. After saying what an exciting campaign this is and how wonderful is Obama, she said:
To paraphrase: You have a talented, etc Black man running for President and a woman, who is trying to break the "highest, hardest" glass ceiling that there is.
Does Hillary really believe a woman has less chance of being elected President than a Black man in America today? I suspect many people, especially Black people, might disagree.

how the hell do you get that Clinton believes that a woman has less of a chance of being elected out of her statement?!?! it was an equal comparison. women DO have a glass ceiling --- but she was in NO way stating that a woman has less of a chance.
Christ. I love the way people twist words and meanings around.

So Hillary is stating that Obama is in the race for POTUS, for "entertainment" purposes, only??
After all she is claiming him to be simply "talented"....
Dance "black man" , dance. Entertain the masses....according to her...
No wonder her poll numbers go consistently down when she opens her mouth.

"how the hell do you get that Clinton believes that a woman has less of a chance of being elected out of her statement?!?!"
She was not referring to Obama with the ceiling remark. Tha was obvious watching it. Frankly, you're kind of silly. She said "who is," singular. Get it?

I'm "silly"? pardon?
I in no way thought that SHE was referring to Obama with the ceiling remark. thank you for attempting to twist MY words.
Posted by: gigglechick | Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 11:42 AM
I cleaned up your comment. I take it back. You aren't silly, you're an idiot.
Why not say "we're both trying to break the etc etc? Given the problems she's having already with Blacks, it was politically dumb for her to dwell on one and dismiss the other.

Thank you for not posting my entire comment - you're exactly like the press with their selective editing.
I am not an idiot, you dolt.
Where the FARK did i say that she said that Obama had a glass ceiling? Where did I mention that there were TWO CEILINGS?
Christ you're retarded. I said that she mentioned that WOMEN HAVE A GLASS CEILING. which we do. She said that Obama was "talented" --- not in the Sammy Davis Jr. type of way - as your buddy Donna is implying. Apparently one can only be "talented" as an "entertainer" --- oooooooooooooookay. suuuuuuuuuuuure.
Dan, my dear... It just tickles me that you and your little psycho friends seem to enjoy misinterpreting what people say.

"Thank you for not posting my entire comment"
Come to think of it, the profanity was probably the most insightful bit, sweety. ; ) And that really is all I removed. Okay, you're an adult, you can use the F word. Congratulations, dear.

LMAO....thanks for the morning laugh Dan!!!! oh, and gigglechick...hahahhahahhahahaaa! we are all psychos in a very endearing way! (Psssst...Dan...can I use the "F" word too????) Have a good day all! heeheeheeeeeeeeeee....giggle...giggle.....THUD.....(sorry, fell off my chair!)

If she was saying that, and I'm not sure she was, I think she is closer to the truth than not. At least where she is concerned. Large segments of American women can't stand Hillary and would never vote for her. Blacks are far more likely to let identity politics decide their vote than women are, at least where Hillary is concerned. Add in all those dem. liberals who think supporting an African American is somehow noble and it is easier for Obama than it will be for Hillary.

"it is easier for Obama than it will be for Hillary."
Ok, regardless of the "he's one of us" vote and the "guilty white women" vote and the "damn he's pretty" vote. Obama just doesn't have the baggage strewn behind him that hildabeast does. Sure women have a ceiling to bump against, but a brother has to look up to see bottom. Didn't stop Shirley Chisolm though.

Is anyone else tired of the victim card?

Giggsie has a style similar to the obscene confrontational style of Jane Hampster's (is that right?). But Jane is above a sock-puppet strike from behind...isn't she?

I think she was taking credit for the legislation passed this week rather than the success of the Surge but I welcome her statement nonetheless.
I've been saying for 3 years that opposition to the war in the U.S. Congress has prolonged the insurgency. I'm pleased therefore to see Ms Clinton acknowledge that what happens in the U.S. Congress is taken note of in Iraq and acted upon. So let's give credit where it's due. The Democrats have prolonged the war with their demands for withdrawal. And how could it be otherwise? If you were an insurgent why would you give up if you keep hearing the Americans will soon be leaving?
Here's what she said on MTP:
"The point of the surge was to quickly move the Iraqi government and Iraqi people. That is only now beginning to happen, and I believe in large measure because the Iraqi government, they watch us, they listen to us. I know very well that they follow everything that I say."
They dote on everything she says! What an ego. The Iraqi government listens but not the insurgents. Well she's finally admitted that the Democrats have affected the course of the war. The Iraqis have finally listened and acted- but not fast enough to please The Scold.

It seems to me that if the Democratic opposition gets credit for improving the situation in Iraq then the most determined opposition should get the most credit.
But the other Democratic candidates opposed our policies in Iraq more than Hillary. She was relatively moderate about the matter.

"women DO have a glass ceiling"
Mostly, in this day and age, self-imposed. Contemporary usage is intellectually misplaced in much the same way as criticising industry, in 2008, for conditions as existed in 1880. You need to keep up and flip the page on the calendar occasionally.
"I am not an idiot, you dolt."
Idiots are about the only people who still cling to the "glass ceiling" philosophy, particularly without qualification, as axiomatic.
Same with the otherwise discredited "Haves versus Have-nots" paradigm that went out of vogue when communes of neophytes utterly failed to be self-sustaining. It was not simply exclusionary power-hogs who kept the naive dopes from wealth and other forms of prosperity; it was the naive philosophies themselves that proved unworkable.
"I said that she mentioned that WOMEN HAVE A GLASS CEILING"
See what I mean about idiots still clinging to that naive philosophy? Hillary's an idiot.
Apart from outdated rhetorical claptrap, who else clings to political "solutions" that have been tried and failed to achieve stated results over and over and over and over and over again?
Even her husband didn't do that. ...though he gave her the job of trying to work up a future forgone-failure on her own. Frankly, it smacked of patriarchy, to just inject my opinioneering here for a bit. In the same sort of way that powerful Capitalist Pigs® give their wife a credit card and an allowance on the premise that she go shopping and leave him alone to wield his power as he would, so the powerful Populist Pig gave his wife a quasi-political chairmanship on the premise that she similarly leave him alone to wield power as he also would.
And we know how that went.
She was effectively given a toy to occupy her day every bit as appealing to her as a platinum card is to many bubble-headed bimbos ... and she went for it.
[You might notice that I used the term "patriarchy" up there a bit. A distillation of term is adequately, if cynically, rendered:
Patriarchy, n,. The whine of a woman who wishes to blame all men for what no man has done to her.
You may use it, but only with attribution.]
Why do you think Hillary is mewling about a glass ceiling? C'mon; plug in your brain for a bit.
*She* certainly hasn't been affected by it. For godsake, she's a junkyard fight and a plurality away from the most powerful leather chair on the planet. That's more than 99.999999% of the men in the country can say, whether she wins or loses.
So why is she bringing it up?
Because she knows it resonates with twits and simpletons like *you*. Instead of working your ass off for your clients, four of whom are up for a Comedy Central deal, you stress over the last time you made it to the club -- over, and over, and over, and over, and over again you stress -- and then suddenly remember, oh, by the way, you should probably get to work for those clients, all the while positing how axiomatic it is that women have this glass ceiling that keeps them from making progress in a man's world.
No. Sorry. What's keeping you, personally, from making progress is your very own priorities. Which are no one's responsibility but your own. "Glass ceiling" has nothing to do with it, and becomes a chimeric excuse for you to draw on when rationalizing.
Go to the club if you want; put off your clients for as long as you think they'll tolerate it also if you want; but god *damn* lady, take responsibility for your own actions. Being a 'gigglechick' is fine, but being a whining gigglechick tries everyone's patience.
And being a profane, whining gigglechick is most likely simply too cliche to let stand without redaction. Try a new line.
