Why is it that the more exposure some people get, through Fox and such, the weaker their analysis seems to become. The one exception I've observed being Michelle Malkin. Does blogging keep one's feet and head on the ground, as opposed to invested in mainstream media memes? This from Rich Lowry:
Yes, two days before South Carolina, it finally ends, according to a Huckabee adviser. It's about time, because McCain has a solid lead in South Carolina in every poll, and if he wins there, he's going to be hard to stop (hate to sound like a broken record on this theme). Unfortunately, it looks like Huck is the only one who can stop him in SC, because there's no sign yet of a Romney bounce or a serious Fred surge. From CNN:
McCain just got stomped in Michigan and doesn't even carry the pure Republican vote as we move into states with closed primaries. He doesn't have a ton of cash in the bank. Florida is currently a four way tie with campaign time after SC and, year to date, no one has gotten a real post-victory bounce with voters, only in the polls. But suddenly he'll be unstoppable with a South Carolina win? That's nonsense, especially as long as Romney is in the race. And if Rudy registers in Florida, he cuts into the McCain vote.
Anyway, I'm glad to see the gloves coming off, even if it is possibly too late. And Fred better start going after the leader in SC even more aggressively if he wants to have a chance.
John McCain is finding the South Carolina campaign trail unexpectedly chilly in more ways than one. Tuesday night, close friend Fred Thompson went on the attack. Just a day later, it seemed anti-Romney ally Mike Huckabee, a major rival for evangelical votes in South Carolina, might be ready to turn on his former comrade-in-arms.
A senior Huckabee adviser told the Christian Broadcasting Network late Wednesday that “the free pass for McCain is over. The next few days in South Carolina will be rough and tumble. Although we will continue to take the high road, I think you will see a message develop; us vs. them. …”

It is probably the money being paid by FOX that restricts the blogers, or at least narrows their attitude. I'm sure it makes a big difference.
Michelle Malkin showed herself to be above that when she jettisoned Bill Oreilly's regular gig after his Whorealdo suck-up.
Jeff Birnbaum once actually mentioned the money being paid panelists and how beneficial it was. I consider Jeff to be one of the more liberal members of FOX. Also one of the more confused.
"Conservative" commentators have their prejudices and will dig conservatives they are not especially attached to.
FOX has been negative toward Romney. Fred Barnes is one of the worst. Fred is so biased he actually more often than not says what he wishes to be the facts rather than give the facts.
FOX is the best we have as of now in giving a resemblance of fair and balanced, but they still have a way to go.

Your hatred of McCain will give us Huckabee. Way to go, you are a genius.
The power of hatred.
