Fox Report: Aviator Dead In Blue Angels Crash

The Navy has not confirmed the death, Fox News claims they have confirmed it through sources on the ground and also that a coroner has been dispatched.

(CBS4) BEAUFORT, S.C Witnesses say a plane which was part of the Blue Angels precision flying team performing Saturday at an airshow near Beaufort, SC appears to have crashed into a wooded area near the airfield hosting the show. There has been no official confirmation from the Navy, but witnesses told CNN that they saw smoke, and some claimed homes were on fire.

Television station WSAV in Savannah, GA, said at least one plane crashed and had started a fire, but other reports contradicted that. A state trooper told CNN that he had not seen a fire, and had heard the pilot was still alive.

A Culture Of Cho

It's amazing though sad when you contrast two elements currently fighting it out. On the one hand you have America, repulsed by the over-playing of images and video of mass murderer Seung-Hui Cho.

And then you have this. A radical theocratic ideology bent on destroying freedom through out the world, one that preserves and celebrates be-headings, even when done by a 12 year old boy. In a sense, radical Islam actually represents a sort of Culture of Cho.

One would think the far left of today would view radical Islam as evil based upon it's religious foundation alone. But the huggers of everything from trees to terrorists seemingly do not. And if they are incapable of distinguishing right from wrong, good from evil, there can be no guarantee that they won't one day actually become a comparable form of evil themselves.

It might cause one to wonder if the radical Left might not one day need to be purged from America with all the resolve and tactics currently reserved for terrorists. Well, it's a thought, anyway!

Dems To Cut College Funding, Mandate Abortion

After considering the weeks events, Democrats led by Harry Reid have decided to discontinue all federally funded college loan and grant programs, while mandating first trimester abortions for all impregnated women.

What with the Virginia Tech tragedy, clearly college is too dangerous and we've lost higher education. And as the religious zealots now sitting on the Supreme Court have banned late term abortion, it's possible a women could find herself one or two days away from giving birth with her life somehow mysteriously in danger ... you know, she might succumb to the great ennui.

Clearly the only solution is to deal with the matter early on and not actually risk giving birth at all. Child birth is now officially a lost cause, according to Harry Reid.

What a weak willed bunch of surrender monkeys are the Democrats of today. I don't think they deserve to be called anything involving the word "party." Henceforth, they should be known as the Democrat Clusterf*ck, or D and C.

Sullivan Doesn't Get It

Along with joining in the call for Harry Reid's resignation, I want to address Andrew Sullivan's question:

I wish Levin (and many of his fellow "till the last dog dies" Iraq War backers) would clarify whether there's any situation in which they would greet a U.S. defeat abroad with any response save a rote invocation of the stab-in-the-back narrative.

This isn't some matter of, Oh we're America, we can never lose a war braggadocio for me. I can think of a perfect example, even if I would hate to see it come to pass.

Suppose China made its move on Taiwan and after an extended bitterly fought costly conventional war, we truly were exhausted militarily? Would I argue for a nuclear confrontation with China? No, I would not.  America may well have to be prepared to lose that war one day, however unfortunate that may sound.

The difference is, that's a conflict with another world power. For heaven's sakes, we are fighting insurgents in Iraq.

Yes, it is difficult ... and costly, but the only thing that can cause us to lose this war is a failure of will, not of our military. And a nation's will is ultimately its greatest weapon, or its weakest link. It is because we can win this war that we must win it. And if the naysayers presently doing everything they can to undermine our chances would simply stop, if not help, we would damn well win it in shorrter order and with less cost in blood and treasure.

A loss against a third world enemy in Iraq would be a far more dangerous defeat than one to an established world power with a military that, at least in numbers, we may not ever be able to match.

And because Harry Reid has come to embody the very loss of will that America simply cannot afford to entertain at this critical time, it would be welcome and appropriate for him to step down as Majority Leader. That's the message all of America should want to send to our enemies right now. We will not tolerate leaders lacking the will to win a war for freedom that we absolutely must win if we are ever to have hope for turning the Middle East around.

Our Dark Hours

As optimistic as I tend to always be when it comes to America, I can't help but think that we are now facing some of the darkest hours we have known since the Civil War and the founding revolution itself. More dark even than 9/11, by far.

When I think that during a time of war we have a feckless traitor like Senator Harry Reid leading the Senate, the America I've known and have valued since my days as a young boy just can't seem the same, somehow. Make no mistake, during their day, had the Founding Fathers been saddled with an alleged leader like a Harry Reid, I suspect they would have tried and convicted him of treason before dragging him out behind some courthouse to stretch his treacherous neck.

Then there's Pelosi, a clueless, moneyed quisling unqualified to hold any position in Federal Government, but elected time and time again by a bunch of mostly anti-American losers out in San Fran. And Murtha? What a useless tub of stupefied lard is that unintelligent un-indicted ABSCAM co-conspirator.

My God - and these people, idiots mostly, and traitors all are part of our leadership today? What a sad, sad joke this country's politics have become. There is no way such dull non-stars could get or continue to be elected without corrupt party practices and tax dollar handouts to an increasingly un-self-reliant America. That they have come to represent the Democrat Party is a blight on a once vibrant two party American system that leaves only one party halfway looking out for our real interests today. And to think, when I first registered, I considered myself one. Yecch!

Like so much political dung, America must scrape this detritus from its boot in 08, relegating it to the minority where it barely belongs, or there will be no truly bright American future for our children to see. They, more than any immigrant or terrorist group, have the ability to destruct the one nation which has stood as light and freedom to the world for the last 200-plus years.

This next election may be the most important in our history. And we must turn these neo-socialist, utterly defeatist un-American losers out. The future of the world's greatest nation, if not the free world itself, may well depend upon it.

Johnson Space Center Evacuated: Shots Fired

Not again:

James Hartfield with NASA says their security got a report of a man with a handgun on the Johnson Space Center grounds at building 44, which is a communication/engineering building. Houston police and officers with a number of agencies have been called to the scene.

The building has been evacuated. We are hearing reports that employees in other buildings on the JSC grounds are being told to stay indoors.

Hartsfield confirms shots were fired in Building 44. At this time, there are no reports of any injuries. Ambulances have been brought to the scene.

According to Houston police on the scene, the suspect is described as a white male, 50-52 years old, blonde hair, no facial hair, glasses, slim build, 5' 9" bluish gray color shirt, gray or blue jeans. They also said he was barricaded on second floor, northwest corner near stairwell.

At this time, there are no reports of any injuries. Ambulances have been brought to the scene.

Officers can be seen surrounding the building. There is at least one officer, sometimes two, at each corner of the building.

At least one person was searched. It's not known who he was, or if he even considered a suspect.

Space Center Intermediate school in the Clear Creek ISD has been locked down as a precaution. Parents are being asked not to pick up their children at this time.

Evacuated employees and media members have been pushed back, in order to keep them out of the line of potential fire.

Careful What You Wish For

Saw this earlier, and I'm glad Media Matters has taken note:

According to an April 20 article on Philly.com, the website of The Philadelphia Inquirer, "The Big Talker 1210 AM morning show of Daily News columnist Michael Smerconish is to be simulcast Monday through Wednesday on MSNBC." The article noted that Smerconish will fill the slot previously held by Imus in the Morning.

The speech bigots at Media Matters went after possibly the least conservative talker of them all, Don Imus. Well, they got him - now look what they get? Ha!

Could it be MSNBC is actually going to start caring about ratings and get slightly on board the conservative talk train?

Of course, the fascists at Media Matters attempt to slam Smerconish, but are left to flail wildly in the air:

On the June 20, 2006, edition of Scarborough Country, Smerconish trivialized reports of detainee abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, referring to the alleged abuse as "naked pyramid pictures." He also referred to alleged mistreatment at the Pentagon detention facility at Guantánamo Bay as "play[ing] Christina Aguilera music a bit too loud."

Awww, what a crime. Off with his head! Maybe we could bowl with it and knock down a naked battlefield detainee pyramid. I bet that'd make the evening line up over on Fox!!

Guess We'll Have To Disagree

More often than not, I agree with fellow righty bloggers when it comes to issues like hate crimes legislation, and so forth. In principle, I do dislike the entire concept. But I have a problem with this at lgf and also at Hot Air.

Placing ham where Muslim students were eating was “an awful thing,” said Stephen Wessler, executive director of the Center for Prevention of Hate Violence. “It’s extraordinarily hurtful and degrading” to Muslims, whose religion prohibits them from being around ham. It’s important to respond swiftly, Wessler said.

Now, that sounds outrageous - like political correctness run amok. As Bryan at Hot Air says:

Surely no one pondering hate crimes legislation ever thought that a slice of ham laying on a table would ever be considered a hate crime, with suspensions, the Center for the Prevention of Violence getting involved, the works.

But back to the article at lgf:

A 14-year-old Somali boy, whose mother asked that his name not be published, said he was eating lunch with four other Somali students on April 11. He noticed many others in the cafeteria “standing up, looking at us.”

One boy came near, began laughing and threw a bag on the table while other students laughed and said, ‘Good job.’“

”We didn’t know what was in this bag,“ the boy said. ”One of my friends reached inside it. It was a big ham steak. There were five of us at the table, all Somali. It was intended for us.“

The boy said he looked up at students he thought were his friends. ”I felt angered, offended.“

Sorry, guys - to me this doesn't read like PC gone wild. It sounds like a bunch of punk ass-ed white boys who, at some level, are feeling some hate and they went out of their way to let the Muslim students know it. And that's wrong.

I do not support the "hate crime" concept, just make the punishment for any crime enough. But the kids that did that are no better than white people who once humiliated black people in droves. The act was unacceptable and deserving of punishment. At the very least, tolerance should be leaving someone alone.
