Not only is Black Perry County Commissioner Albert Turner urging Blacks to support Hillary because she's white - it seems he had a five year respite from politics due to a plea agreement in a voting fraud case. He claims to have won it. Some might argue making a deal to stay out of jail after marking absentee ballots for your candidate isn't actually winning.
I'm sure Hillary's glad he's back in the game.
Before the endorsement vote, Perry County Commissioner Albert Turner praised Obama's qualifications, but urged the group to support Clinton.
"The question you have to put forth to yourself is that whether or not in this racist country a black man named Obama — when we are shooting at Osama — can win the presidency of the United States?" Turner said.

I blogged about this as yet another example of Alabama politicians making the whole state look like morons. The Democratic party in the last state elections had a fight over whether a black person or a white lesbian should represent one district. Supporters of a black candidate sued over the primary, although the white lesbian won and is in office. Identity politics at its finest.

Gee, can it be said that one is putting something forth when one is talking to one's self? No, of course not. But anyway, this is quite a double accusation: (1) The electorate is racist. (2) The electorate is stupid. Thanks Commissioner Porter. But it seems to me that during a drought, we can't have a commissioner named Turner because it rhymes with burner. Now please resign your commission before the police come for you.
