Limbaugh Fires Back On Huckabee
Update: Audio at Hot Air
Update: Here's the transcript from yesterday. h/t Michelle Malkin.
I said at the time this was a fight Huckabee didn't want. The media is bound to pick it up giving it even more exposure than Rush is. And Huckabee's bound to lose. You don't pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel, or have three hours of air time every day. As I suggested below, I guess Huckabee really isn't all that bright. More at link above.
"Stop with this Clintonian spin."
"McCain's starting to look better to than this guy, and that's saying something."
"The Huckabee campaign is trying to dumb down conservatism in order to get it to conform with his record."
Limbaugh is now comparing Huckabee to H. Ross Perot.
"Who is this campaign to decide who is and who is not conservative? I hadn't heard of Huckabee in any serious manner before this campaign began. Believe me, I know who the conservatives are and aren't."
"It's elites who want to talk to Iran, not Middle America. It's the elites who are soft on crime, not Middle America."

Huckawon'tbe, t'was nice knowing yer RINO butt. Be sure to tell your supporters to vote for Fred when you cash out.

How do you dumb down conservatism?

Just remember that Rush really ended up hurting George Bush,Sr. in 1992 against Clinton. Rush kept saying Bush would win and that Bush was ahead in the polls and I think it hurt Bush to have such a blowhard as Rush mouthing untruths that anyone could see and hear through. Rush is a liability to the Republican Party. They think he helps them. But most people don't respect such a gasbag and he ends up turning people off and then they turn him off.

He'll always have a place as a football announcer.
Oh, no wait. He won't.
Rush gets paid well to feed his listenership what they want. He's like a church like that with 3 hours of sermon a day to feed the faithful. But Rush's audience isn't Huck's audience. Huck has his own church with, like, pastors and shit. That's something Rush just can't compete with. And the harder the oxycotin-popping, Dominican whore-house visiting, unmarried Methodist shouts down Huckabee's theocon creds, the more he'll loss his own Christian underpinnings.
Rush is playing a dangerous game here, going all in against the Presidential favorite. Mittens better have his back on this, or he's going to look like a damn fool when the theocon revolt topples the neocon agenda.
I think it was Dan himself who talked about voting Hillary if Huckabee won the nomination. We could get to see a Republican exodus and realignment that would make the Carter/Reagen election look quaint.

"How do you dumb down conservatism?"
By having TheSpartan declare himself a conservative.

I've got at least 30 IQ points on Dubya.

That would be funny, but Dubya is not close to being a conservative.

Does anyone actually believe that the guy spouting lib talking points against Rush was really a "Huckabee ally?" How would attacking Rush benefit any Republican candidate? This is just so stupid.
This smells like a dirty trick done by an opposition candidate or the dems. Whoever was behind it, they sure got a lot of milage out of this. So congrats.

"--- How do you dumb down conservatism? ---"
By electing idiots who flip-flop and who would sell us out to the liberal agenda in a heartbeat.
Conservatives - will you indeed pick a winner?
Rudy would grab our guns and continue to turn us into a security theatre/police state. And would not do much as the nation continues to slide down the moral-relativist LGBT-enabling baby-murdering sewer pipe to the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah.
McCain would turn us into North Mexico.
Huck would turn back the LGBT agenda and save a few babies, but the trade-off would be a twisted inversion of a Clintonesque nanny-state with all the tax hikes and federal mandates.
Mitt SAYS he will be a good conservative, but who knows how many times he will "see" things differently with his super-secret Moroni-vision and his magicked underoos as he sells the Republic down the river...?
The common thread between the above four strands of idiocy and non-conservatism is that in the end, they are all Big Nanny Staters of one stripe or another.
People... your choice is clear. If you call yourself a conservative, and want to keep the United States together and as a world leader, you'll support the hands down, truly consistent conservative found in Fred Thompson.

"Limbaugh is now comparing Huckabee to H. Ross Perot"
There is no comparision, Perot was smart.

Smart like a mental patient.
