I don't want to offend my more religious readers and if someone wants to convert their marriage to a covenant marriage, that's fine by me - though I suspect it's a bit more marginal in American culture, than say Mormonism. But I kind of draw the line at public funding for it, which Huckabee used in a ceremony for approximately 1,000 covenant marriages in Arkansas. Is there anything he particularly views as Christian this guy doesn't want to spend tax dollars on?
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Gov. Mike Huckabee and his wife plan to convert their nuptial vows into a covenant marriage during a mass ceremony on Valentine’s Day, giving a public push to the movement that seeks to strengthen marital ties and make it harder to get divorced.
Huckabee did not disclose the total cost for the Valentine’s Day event, but said most of the cost would be covered by contributions from participating churches. He defended using some taxpayer money to promote the ceremony and cover some its costs.
“We believe it’s an important enough event to use this time and resources for it because, quite frankly, we’re spending an enormous amount of money dealing with the consequences of marriages that don’t work out,” the governor said.

I'm in no way offended, except that he should not be using public money for his marriage ceremony, regardless of the particulars of his wedding contract.
That's just plain wrong.

You never offend anyone by being honest.
Having said that, and out of the way, Huckabee is a 'phony'.
His ad to say 'he is a christian leader', and then being slowly exposed as a liar, a phony, is the worst kind of christian.
If he followed the true meaning of Jesus's teachings, he would demonstrate, rather then claim to be a christian leader.
Faith without works is nothing!
