Huckabee On Immigration

Allah has video of Huckabee with Chris Wallace today.

His answer on immigration contemplates what kind of admission policy we’ll have if we ever do get the border under control.

Given that he is selling himself as so consistent and compassionate, I really don't get how he can dismiss his using the harshest of language to denounce those on the Right that were opposed to comprehensive immigration reform. His tolerance meter must have been stuck. Or maybe he doesn't mind people being racists and nativists so long as they're voting for him.

"Supported President Bush's immigration plan and claimed that opposition to Bush's proposal was driven by "racism or nativism" and that it wasn't amnesty. (Ralph Hallow, "Huckabee 'Serious' About Presidency," Washington Times, 5/17/06)
