Last Q: What haven't you made your mind up on?
Clinton - A lot.
Obama: Climate change, science shows it is excellerating - we must have drastic steps by the time I take office.
Edwards: Who my VP will be.
Kucinich: We must impeach Bush and I'm ready to be Prez.
Q for Clinton - can't you name one, others did? The economy, but too many complicated issues. She simply won't answer anything straight. End debate.
Immigration part2:
Hillary: Comprehensive immigration reform needed. Unemployment is down because people are giving up looking for work. NPR prods - why not crack down on employers? A) I will, but the debate is extreme. Can't deport, not keeping with American values andwould cost too much.
Obama: I will initiate process immediately, it will take time, leadership. We must change the tone of the debate.
Dodd: We are creating amesty while people wait in line at embassies. Conservatives are using issue as a wedge issue. Bad ... bad.
Q for Edwards on H1B visas: What would you do? A) Why aren't we educating our own? Keeps getting back to usual themes - what about he children, education, etc ...
Biden: Employers aren't doing their part and we aren't enforcing the laws. Immigrant women are getting the crap beat out of them, don't report it for fear of deportation. SOmetimes humanitarian needs trump the law.
Q: Why press 1 for English, 2 for etc on goveernment phones. Will you change?
Obama: No, we have non english speaking citizens.
Clinton: We need one language, but ... many citizens speak different languages, cities NYC. They should be expected to learn the language.
Kucinich: Anti English only - founding docs of his state are in German. The worldis one.
Q: Will immigration change America? All say yes - and it will change it for the good according to Gravel. Biden says they should speak English.
Dodd: We need to speak different languages, it's a source of our wealth.
Obama: Children of immigrants learn English. We have a broken legal immigration system, must be fixed. Last word on immigration.
one last question coming up.
Immigration:
What are citizen obligations as regards illegal immigration, should they turn them in?
Obama: We don't deputize, the feds should be better at the borders and create a path to citizenship for the 12m already here. Also hold employers accountable but don't criminalize priests and doctors.
Q to Dodd: A citizen hires a nanny that is illegal, what should they do? Dodd: People need to go the extra mile to make sure they are legal, we have to discourage illegal immigration.
Kucinich: Rely on Constitution, not be vigilanties - Guatanamo, Bush - America is bad. zzzzz
Moderator playing tape of employer: Don't ask, don't tell for government funded education instituion.
Clinton: It's the Feds fault, don't penalize those who would give illegal immigrants aid. They make the beds in our hotels and are embedded in our society.
Biden: I needed a nanny for my kids due to wife's death, most I interviewed were from Ireland, etc.
NPR host debunks that - 70-80 percent from Mexico and S America according to Pew.
Q for Edwards: How can illegals not drive down wages? A) Cites unnamed studies, talks of illegals being abused by employers, not answering the Q. NPR interjects - Edwards demogogues Bush and middle class, doesn't answer.
More Q to Edwards: What rights do illegals have, you say they do? A) The answer is comprehensive reform. They are vulnerable, we enforce laws but should let them be abused. NPR prods - Edwards would use Fed government to protect their rights, overtime, etc.
Obama: Needs leadership. How do we fix it, they can drive down wages. Don't pit workers against one another, give 12 million path to citizenship, back of the line, and then enforce laws.
Kucinich: NAFTA and leave my (illegal) people alone. Constitution, civil rights, Guatanamo and impeachment - blah.
Gravel: Playing to nativists and crazies, noone is illegal - weshould just open the doors, they will go home when we don't need them. Riiiight.
Break - to be continued.
Gravel's going off and the moderator can't get him to shut up. LMAO Pretty sad, really. The earlier stuff is below the fold, still waiting on the immigration questions. They are debating protectionism as regards China, no one is biting, yet.
2nd topic: Focus on China ... I'm waitng for immigration next but will recap.
Edwards: Evil, evil toys. Use our economic leverage and engage. toys toys toys.
Obama: Get our fiscal house in order, the cost of war, ... we should think strategically, mentions Africa, we haven't been good negaotiators with China, helping Wall St, not Main St.
Clinton: Bush's bad policy to blame - fiscal and diplomatically.
Q: What will be your doctrine, as opposed to the Bush doctrine?
Hillary: restore faith in America - light the world, etc
Edwards: Not ad hoc as Bush is, we respect you.........
Biden: Clarity, prevention, not preemption.
Obama: Won't be doctrainaire(sp) - common hope, common prosperity - teach middle eastern children to read and get China to not pollute.
commercial break (see top for new)
Q: How can US be honest broker and not alienate Muslims given strong support for Israel?
Edwards: Nonresponsive blames Bush.
Obama: Close Guatanamo, reach out, change the minds of Iranian people.
Dodd and Kucinich - (does anyone really care?) next topic coming up.
Second round: Some Bush bashing, Hillary still defending Revolutionary Guard vote. Moderator invokes Lieberman, playing audio of Liebs - Iran has crossed a red line, killing soldiers, etc.
Edwards: Declaring a group terrorists isn't diplomacy. Hillary agrees with Bush on WOT, voted for resolution.
Hillary: Edwards really goes to far. We are not rushing to war but acknowledging their misdeeds is prudent - pushing back on Edwards.
Gravel: Hamas and Hezbollah are elected organizations, why can't Iran aid them? They are fighting for their rights? GEESH.
Biden: I've been around for ever, I know everything, blah blah blah. The declaration is self defeating - it raised oil prices and made it look like a war on Islam.
Obama: Problem with resolution was it suggested we structure forces in Iraq to blunt Iran, resolution strengthened Iran.
Edwards: Hillary gave Bush and Cheney what they wanted. We can undermine Ahmadinejad w/Europe's help.
Clinton: Revolutionary Guard is not Iranian government. I advocate diplomacy there but still support sanctions. No rush to war.
Listener question: Disclose questioners donations first - note to CNN - heh! Q) Isn't Ahmadinejad dangerous?
Biden: Only because we can't trust Bush. (see top for next)
Topics are Iran, and Immigration
Clinton agrees with Bush - diplomacy, carrots and sticks.
Gravel - Iran no problem, never was - ... (why is he here)
Obama - Iran still a threat, financing Hamas, Hezbollah. Wants to eventually normalize relatons.
Biden - Iran stopped the program, it's the President we can't trust. Geesh. Total blame America spiel.
Edwards: It's the neo-cons, stupid.
Kucinich: I was right, Iran's just a sweety, too bad Bush fooled my colleagues here. I offer ... I don't know, his tasty wife isn't on the table. heh!
To Hillary: You voted to label the Iranian Rev. Guard a terrorist organization. Wassup with that? A) Many of us believed that, Iran is still dangerous. Quotes Obama and Edwards as not being strong, etc.
Kick back to Edwards: You faulted Clinton for the vote, what say you? A) We disagree
Obama: Hillary misleads in quoting me. I said we should keep our options on the table but Bush is saber rattling.

I'd like to see a democrat debate where the candidates were not allowed to use the word Bush or Republican. See if any of them can stand on their own.

To read this site, you would think that there are no republicans running. Says a lot about the slate of losers that they have up for '08.

Do any of these fools know that part of the citizenship process requires competency in the English language?
http://www.us-immigration-attorney.com/citizenship.htm
"Applicants for naturalization must be able to read, write, speak, and understand words in ordinary usage in the English language."
Yeah, there are some exceptions to the rule but very, very few.

Yeah, no way a war hero with decades of legislative experience, a top notch prosecutor and Mayor who cleaned up America's biggest city and a self made millionaire and managerial genius measure up against a cowardly scold junior Senator; a naive pacificist junior Senator; and a pretty boy lawyer, pacificist former junior Senator.
Clearly its strong on defence versus strong odor.

The democrats know so little about the constitution they think President Bush can run again. I think the RINO's that went against the presdient in the last election all have highly visable jobs now. They've been promoted to the front counter at McDonalds. It will happen again in 08. Just keep assuming the silent majority isn't paying attention and pay the price.
