Update: Bill joins Hillary in Iowa today as the campaign changes its focus to women. How fitting is that? heh!

Perhaps you remember former Atlanta Mayor and Carter Ambassador Andrew Young, he's taken to the stump for Hillary. While addressing a Black audience, Young repeated the myth of Obama's having been educated in Islamic schools, joked that Bill Clinton has had more Black women than Obama, and cited Hillary's experience, including handling the infamous Bimbo eruptions.

He also joked that author Toni Morrison may have been on to something when she referred to former President Bill Clinton as the "first black president." "Bill is every bit as black as Barack," he said. "He has probably gone out with more black women than Barack." Young's remarks come as Obama is battling with Hillary for support in the black community."

But one quibble. Looking at Andrew Young's resume, and choosing to characterize him as a "carter appointee" is pretty bizarre. Why not "associate of Dr. King", or "former Atlanta mayor"? Its kinda like describing Rudy Guiliani as "Reagan appointee" - true, but a strange descriptor nonetheless.

Gasp. I had to actually watch the Andrew Young video three times, because I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was he drunk or has he just gone completely nutso?

I got a strange sense here (and I fully admit that I could be wrong on this) that Young NEVER wants to see an African-American President, because in his mind that individual could somehow eclipse MLK in history. (Which is crazy...MLK is one of the 3 or 4 greatest Americans ever. Obama, no matter how much I like him, ain't gonna eclipse Dr. King.) Young managed to seem jealous and dismissive of Obama one second, and then highly complimentary te next (One positive line was, "He's brilliant.").

Geez the whole thing was so bizarre...comparing Obama to Maynard Jackson (now dead) and Bill Campbell (now in jail). WTF? He also said, "Leadership requires suffering." Sometimes, but not always. It did for MLK, but not for every other great leader.

The whole Chinese half-sister and "islamic schools" comment? I'd say he's right, but why on earth did he frame it that way?

He also said, "To put a brother in there (the White House) is to set him up for crucifiction." What on earth is that supposed to mean? he doesn't apparently think Obama can handle himself, which is crazy.

Hillary's in a MAJOR bind on this one, because if you distance yourself from Andrew freakin' Young, your black vote is GONE, or it's at least gonna suffer big time. If she doesn't...ouch...if she doesn't distance she's in deep trouble too. This is a no win situation for Hillary if I've seen one.

Let's hope Obama puts her out of her misery (and ours) over the next 60 days.

Please all, we have to understand Andrew Young. It is law of nature that with aging, a person starts to lose mental capacity but the timing differs from person to person.

Outside US, Andrew Young is known as a front for some corrupt African leaders. In order to feather his nest, he has no moral outrage that these African leaders are pauperizing their citizens. Andrew Young can sell his mother on the cheap in order to earn status in the society. He says that Obama is young to be President. Then the question will be, how old was Bill Clinton and JFK when they won election to become presidents and were their age then older that Obama’s age today.

We hear this experience and we do not ask some pertinent questions. If Obama were to be sworn in as president in January 2009, he would have had more foreign policy experience than Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George W Bush when each assumed office as US President.

Andrew Young is only looking after himself coupled with the fact that he is losing mental acuity in reasoning clearly.
