I'll be watching the debate tonight. Meanwhile, a couple items are making their way around, as you likely know.
The Mitt Romney/Muslim thing strikes me as much ado about nothing, despite how some are characterizing it as a "it's the cover up, not the crime" sort of deal. The big mistake may have been not allowing the story to simply die out. It's getting to the point where no candidate will be able to make an off the cuff remark lest it be blown out of all proportion.
This on Rudy looks to be more troubling in so far as it could spin out of control. If he was required to have security 24/7, then it had to be billed to the taxpayer. The most harm may ultimately come from focusing people on Rudy's personal life, as opposed to some big corruption charge. It doesn't look like that, just his office trying to keep his personal life out of the news back in NY.
As New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani billed obscure city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses amassed during the time when he was beginning an extramarital relationship with future wife Judith Nathan in the Hamptons, according to previously undisclosed government records.
