The Last Victim Of 9/11?

The American Spectator appears to have gotten it wrong on the rumored Dobson endorsement of Huckabee.

Watching the hierarchy of the religious right fragment around endorsements, I'm left thinking that in some ways their over-whelming influence on Republican politics is very much a victim of 9/11. Their primary issue, abortion, has been displaced by National Security and I think that's a good thing.

I also very much hope they remain in the Republican tent and a broader discussion of values remains at the heart of any Republican agenda. But a toning down of the rhetoric and realistic expectations for a divided nation can't hurt.

Especially since Ido not see the Donks taking them in.

As a faction within the GOP they are quite strong, but if they were to attempt forming a third party, they would have nearly zero influence in national-level American politics.
