AP has it now:

WASHINGTON - Sens. Charles Schumer and Dianne Feinstein say they will vote for Attorney General-nominee Michael Mukasey, which likely gives him enough support to pass the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Their decision came shortly after the chairman of the committee, Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., announced he would vote against Mukasey, a former federal judge.

"This is an extremely difficult decision," Schumer said in a statement, adding that Mukasey "is not my ideal choice."

Feinstein was a machine-Democrat mayor in SF, she may be in the pocket of the entertainment industry (e.g. DMCA) and may occasionally pitch some words toward the nutroots (in the same manner that Reagan gave the social-conservative-right words rather than actions) but she's got at least a little more sense than seems to be typical for Democrats these days.

Crook and Liars already has an important action alert up. I feel sorry for Feinstein's and Schumer's phone staffs. The moonbats just don't understand why so many Democrats prefer operating in the real world.

I went to crooksandliars and wish I hadn't, sort of. I keep forgetting how totally unwilling to accept a federal, democratic government these people are. One would have thought that the Stalinist impulse had been pretty thoroughly exposed for what it is, but those guys seem not to have gotten the memo.

I was hoping they would turn him down and the President would bring back the dunderhead that ran the place into the ground through pure ignorance. At least until the dummies go on vacation and then he could put the living 'mustache' (Bolton) in as AG until he's out of office. He did a good job at the U.N. and would love to prosecute/persocute dozens of democrat congress critters as traitors. The comedy of the dhimmi's running congress into single digit approval continues. Maybe they'll make up their mind to get the job done and wipe, or dance the outhouse stall shuffle.
