John Dumbo-shire

Pretty embarrassing for NRO - and a shame. Still, just further proof that some of the largest conservative media organizations suffer from something of an old boys club mentality. Someone dumb enough to post this should be drummed out of the fold.

Has anyone else noticed that "Ron Paul" almost rhymes with "Goebbels," if you drop the "s"? And look—it has the same number of syllables!

All I took away from that American Thinker piece was that Paul has some really amateurish people running his campaign. Which I'm not much surprised to learn.

Don't the American Thinker folk understand how paranoid bullying like that just reinforces the worst stereotypes about ethnocentric Jews? For all I know, Stormfront.org may have quoted me with approval on some topic or other. What does that make me—Derbyshitler?

For heaven's sake: Does anyone really think Ron Paul is an antisemite?

Had Derbyshire taken the time to read the long litany of issues, he'd be a fool to dismiss the actual point of the post. Perhaps he should also have read this item on Paul's issues in Texas.

Derbyshire's posting was as irresponsible as it was ignorant. But then, he's evidently one of the boys, a few of whom around the so-called top tier of conservative punditry appear less relevant to conservatism every day. They really don't hold up very well given the exposure and scrutiny brought about by new media, particularly blogs.

» Reactions to Ron Paul campaign article from American Thinker Blog
Yesterday's article by Andrew Walden on the Ron Paul campaign's disturbing unwillingness to distance itself from neo-Nazi supporters predictably drew a lot of reaction. Some of the responses were rather surprising, and one of them, from a respected web... [Read More]

Dan-

Work it, baby!

I am starting to enjoy "the hate" that Ron Paul gets from the "libertarian-right"!

Is Hugh doing a "Townhouse 2"?

Your "denial" only makes him stronger...

derbyshire has long been an embarrassment for the right. You're only now noticing? You must be pretty far out of the mainstream.

Thanks, Dan. I thought the remark over the top and so did his colleague Jonah Goldberg. And as far as I know he's not responded to the AT editor's queries.
