Just a little problem in the UK to remind you to give thanks today that we don't have national health care in the US. It's just one more opportunity for government to screw things up - as if they need more of those.
Two computer discs holding the personal details of all families in the UK with a child under 16 have gone missing.
The Child Benefit data on them includes name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and, where relevant, bank details of 25 million people.
Chancellor Alistair Darling said there was no evidence the data had gone to criminals - but urged people to monitor bank accounts "for unusual activity".


It was the National Revenue Office that lost the data, not the Social Security. Using this to argue against Social Security doesn't make a lot of sense, it can be better used to argue against nuclear weapons programs or death penalty.
