Recently the different Houses of Congress each have had much to say about condemnation. There was the MoveOn.org flap and the recent Limbaugh condemnation letter flap. Regardless of how you feel about the foolishness, or appropriateness of all that, once again, Congress has displayed its inability to adequately address one of its own for a repugnant act.
It's just more proof that there's no such thing as principle when it comes to DC pols, it's all politics, all the time. Americans are fed up with it and the best proof of that is the increasing numbers of registered Independents. Neither party appears capable of putting aside politics for the common good and I suspect a throw the bums out mentality will prevent Democrats from truly capitalizing on what should be a good year for them in 2008. The average American doesn't see politics as Republican versus Democrat, they see it as us (the people) versus them (two party's seemingly dedicated to outliving their usefulness and effectiveness on substantive, important issues of the day).
WASHINGTON - Republicans failed in an effort Tuesday to have the House censure Rep. Pete Stark, D-Calif., who said in a congressional speech last week that U.S. troops are being sent to Iraq "to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."

Even though the resolution came up a few votes short, it, togetther with a great big push from Pelosi, led Stark to apologise for his remarks on the House floor. What's particularly amusing is watching some of the fruit loops on the loony Left go bonkers over Stark's apology. In their view it was altogether reasonable and proper to accuse the President of the US of deriving amusement from the deaths of our citizens in Iraq. They are truly amazing scum.

There isn't a nickles worth of difference in the whole lying bunch. We are at the best time in history for a viable third party. Teddy's Bull Moose club would sweep in next Nov.

A third party would have '0' chance. Haven't you noticed that the socialist/communist party has folded into the democrat party and they won't support any third party. A third party will only aid the enemies of the United States in the democrat party in gaining more seats in congress. There's a fact everyone knows and half the country won't admit. There is no longer a democrat party, they have folded to the enemy in order to maintain their personal power, which will soon disappear along with what is left of the democrats. As the USSR leader said in 59-60, they will destroy the U.S. without firing a shot and the democrats are already defeated and are helping the communist or whatever the enemy calls it's self this week.

Terry, they just don't understand why so much controversy came from comments they see all the time in the reality based community. Hopefully Stark has learned the lesson that it's not good politics to stand up in the House and parrot moonbat talking points.

Scrap; I think you sell short the numbers of moderates of both parties and the numbers of independants among us. Come Nov, millions will hold thier noses and vote for one "party" or another but not like thier candidate. I'm telling you that if we had a true believer, who really gave a crap about the country and the people the two parties would each get about 20% combined.
