The New Low Times?
Almost shocking and certainly sad. It's a wonder New Yorkers don't run the paper right out of town for this one. But then perhaps it mirrors at least a majority of New Yorker's sentiments, too? There's a joke in here somewhere about all the nooses that have been turning up in New York recently. But I wouldn't want to use eliminationist rhetoric, or anything. The Libs get a hard on every time someone on the Right, does. And they're dangerous enough without being excited, assuming some few of them can actually get it up.
October 13, 2007 -- Every major daily paper in New York took note of President Bush's deci sion to bestow the first Medal of Honor of Operation Enduring Freedom on Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy - a Long Islander who gave his life for his country and his fellow SEALs.
Every paper but one, that is.
And it shouldn't be particularly hard to guess which one.

I buy the NY Times on Sunday for the puzzle and the Travel Section. Their magazine section is a joke. Their articles in the magazine are boring beyond belief. Whenever I get a chance I get the Sunday Times of London or the Telegraph both of which take a week to devour.
Anyway, here's an article I lifted from a policeman's blog.
Col. Jack Jacobs of Morris County, N.J., who fought in Vietnam
A few years ago, I nominated Jacobs to receive the Shomrim Person of the Year Award which is presented at our annual Memorial Service. At that time he was the ONLY living MOH recipient. I felt that he would best represent the service of Jews in our Armed Forces.
At the service, all those present were humbled to hear Jacobs' remarks about how he had always looked up to police officers when he was growing up and how we were his heroes. Imagine that - a man with the highest award for heroism telling you that you're his hero. WHEW.
It is somewhat bittersweet to note that Jacobs is only 1 of 2 living Jewish recipients to have received our nations highest honor.
Tibor Rubin finally received his MOH after 55 years!!!!!!!
He was recognized not only for his personal and conspicuous valor in battle but also for his bravery as a Korean POW during which time his actions and care for his fellow prisoners. Rubin's fellow detainees say his actions kept at least 40 prisoners alive.
Over the next decades Rubin was nominated several times for service medals, including the Medal of Honor.
But there were always problems with the paperwork. The Pentagon now says that someone in his chain of command may have stymied the process because Rubin was a Hungarian Jew.
But he says that "after 55 years, I never figured I'm going to get it, so I'm very happy."
The fact of the matter is that a Sergeant at the headquarters unit of Rubin's command finally admitted that he had intentionally destroyed the recommendation for the Medal of Honor due to anti-Semitism.
We don't know how many other Jews were denied the MOH due to anti-Semitism. The President authorized a panel similar to that organized to investigate as to whether there were blacks and those of Asian descent who were the subject of prejudice and who deserved the medal. Both panels reported back to the President and as a result a number of additional Medals of Honor have been presented.
We have yet to hear of the report concerning Jews.
The Medal of Honor is a hobby of mine and over the years I have been able to obtain the autographs of many of the recipients. I can assure you that they are worth a hell of a lot more to me than my collection of baseball autographs.
Today, there are only 109 living recipients and they are rapidly passing from among us. One can only hope and pray that there will be no future recipients and there will be no more war.
May God bless them each and every one.
Proud to be PD

Lala: You no doubt already know this, but one of the first CMH recipients was a black Sargent named Christian Fleetwood. Of curiosity, do you also collect bios of other similar medals? From other countries, or Confederate recipients?

Wahoo, that article was written by a retired NYC policeman. I copied it from the site he wrote it on.
Here's today's editorial from the NY Post - and part of it:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/10132007/news/nationalnews/the_new_york_crimes.htm
"It wasn't the first time the Times gave short shrift to such a story. The paper ran just one paragraph about the posthumous awarding of the Medal of Honor to Cpl. Jason Dunham, a U.S. Marine from upstate killed in Iraq in 2004. That paragraph ran in January in the middle of a story about congressional opposition to Bush's Iraq war plans."

"Well, apparently Operation Enduring Clusterfuck is proceeding swimmingly."
I don't know about that Boob, for a time it did appear the DNC would have an easy time in the '08 elections, but with a win looking more and more likely in Iraq, the Operation Enduring Clusterfuck known as the Democratic National Committee looks as if it has decided to go Nutroot. And give us a good chance. Thanks, Boob, for all YOUR help in this matter. It is greatly appreciated.

JJ
The surge must be working, why else would the Democrats be trying to get Turkey mad at us by bringing up the Armenian genocide question?

Exactly, Lala, anything they can do to make Bush lose, to hell with the effects on the nation and our military. Sad, really.

And, Lala, what an interesting hobby you have. I wish I had thought of it, haha. Good luck on your mission, a real mission from God I might add. Regards.

"Lala, what an interesting hobby you have"
I think so too. Just wished he'd tell us more.

No, no, it's not me - it's a retired NYPD policeman who belongs to the Shomrim Society of the New York City Police Department.
The site he posts on doesn't allow non-civil servants to post otherwise I'd ask him about it.
You can contact Shomrim to find out more, I guess.

Poor Bob - he didn't read the rest of Sanchez's comments...like where he blasts people like Bob for undercutting our effort.

I have the feeling, based on the ever-increasing repetition, lack of creativity, bigotry, irrelevant subject matter, and baseless ferocity of his comments, that the Boob may well be institutionalized before the next election. Can the institutionalized vote, I wonder? If the Left has anything to say they can.

At the time Luttrell and Murphy, his best friend, knew that "a massive mistake had been made." He writes, "I had actually cast a vote which I knew could sign our death warrant. I'd turned into a…liberal, a half-assed, no-logic nitwit, all heart, no brain, and the judgment of a jackrabbit."
