If one is going to invoke the stereotypical concept of "what it takes to be a man", it might be wise to suggest being a man is something other than an empty gesture.
Given that it's Geraldo, it's hard to know if the above flows from his barely average intelligence, or simply his having no serious concept of honor or values, beyond what passes for same in the tabloid television genre.
It's probably best that most of his career has been focused on superficial but buzz-worthy nonsense. It makes a great cover for what a superficial schmuck he actually seems to be.


Here would be the Rivera-style apology from Limbaugh:
"I'm not going to say what I really think about the phony soldiers but I apologize with deep sincerity for any ambiguities to the dopes who believe and left-wing zealots who cooked up this preposterous allegation. Thank you."
Now that would work well, wouldn't it.
