Sometimes You Just Can't Pass One Up

Someone has to say it, might as well be a blogger. Senator Larry Craig has been inducted into the Idaho Stall of Shame Hall of Fame. Yeah, seriously. I wonder, did his spokesman get that last bit out with a straight face?

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Organizers had planned a pleasant dinner for Saturday, during which the tiny Idaho Hall of Fame would add a dozen inductees and renew its aim of honoring "real life heroes," as its Web site states.
Then Sen. Larry Craig, one of this year's honorees, got arrested in an airport men's room, and the private, nonprofit hall's quiet evening out turned into a media spectacle.

Michael Ritz, an Idaho Hall of Fame board member, said he has been bombarded with calls from national outlets wanting to know whether they can set up cameras at the $50-a-head function. Not inside, he tells them.

A smiling Craig, who served a decade in the House before his 1990 election to the Senate, arrived at the event with his family.

"He ... is excited that at least some Idahoans have not forgotten his three decades of public service to Idaho," his spokesman Dan Whiting said in an e-mail.

Sadly, this sends a rather chilling message that some people simply do not care about standards.

The Idaho Hall of Fame should have revoked Craig's "election" to the its august body. The man is a disgrace, and brings much shame to his state.

OK, assume the worst is true. Craig made a pass at a guy in a bathroom. Could someone, anyone, tell me how this is against the law? Could anyone tell me how Barny Frank, who now sits in a power position in Congress, did better by essentially keeping a male prostitute and a working pimp, the same guy, in his apartment? cheating on his spose, for one. and anon mensroom sex isn't exactly in the boyscout manual, even if he didn't break the law. there are also several other issues, not being able to control his impulses in that manner is bad enough, that it would also leave him open to blackmail, etc - makes him unsuitable as a member of government. I don't recall anyone showing how it was "anon mensroom sex" he was after either, though it could be inferred. For all we know, he may have wanted to get a motel room.

I also contrasted Craig with Frank. Any thoughts on Frank? Craig must answer to his voters if he hasn't broken the law. Frank obviously already has. The Dem voters' answer to him was, "You go girl".

If they throw all the adulterers out of Congress, who will pass laws?

My take on Larry Craig and Barney Frank is that they both like to bugger other men. One does it, and then pimps out sodomite sex from his apartment, the other cheats on his spouse and when caught, tries (rather unconvincingly) to dodge the charges. Neither of them deserve their congressional seats.

As far as I'm concerned, if the good people of MA and ID decided to string them up from the same tree, I wouldn't shed any tears over it.

Power corrupts, and lots of power corrupts lots of people: yes, term limits would be a nice thing. Too bad that the only people who can change that are a pile of sodomites, adulterers, and child molesters in Congress.

Just stating my opinion. Unlike you and some of your ilk, I did not wish for them to die a horrible gruesome death as y'all did the VP last year when he was visiting an army unit deployed in A'stan.

I simply stated that I won't have any regrets if the voters in ID and MA decided to dispose of their officials in the next election, or recalled them, or do some things involving ropes and a tree.

And if those honourable voters do none of the above, or continue to vote those wicked men back in for another term, then oh well. That's on them.
