ROFL I love wingnuts. You guys are so out of touch with reality it is pretty obvious you never leave your house. First of all, you're siding with plutocrats (like Bush), the childless failures (like Riehl) and people like Malkin who hires multiple nannies for her kids, instead of siding with middle-class americans, who you know, actually work hard unlike those jokers.

Furthermore, 63% of Americans support the $35Billion expansion of SCHIP.

http://www.yubanet.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi/61/63969

Perhaps it is you seeker, who need to move out of this country, as most of your countrymen DON'T agree with you. Haha, it's amusing that you pretend to know what Americans want and are so wrong, just like how you pretend to follow Jesus but are really just a pathetic idolater.

"Looks like you guys have another American family to attack:"

Whew, finally a family everyone can agree needs help!!

Alpha wrote

"Michelle Malkin was canned, in part, for her abuse of a 12-year-old child who disagreed with her.

When you're too hateful for Bill O'Reilly, you really need to step back and figure out what you're doing."

Do you have any proof of this or did you just make it up?

Same pollsters - this time on illegal immigrants -
Should laws be passed according to what polls reveal?

In addition to improving security at our borders, Congress is considering a proposal that would impose a monetary fine on foreigners who are currently in the United States illegally and then grant them legal, temporary-worker status. Which of the following statements do you agree with more?
Statement A: We SHOULD grant temporary-worker status to foreigners who are here illegally. Most of them will stay in the United States anyway, and this plan would allow the government to keep track of them and their activities and require them to pay taxes while they are here.
Statement B: We should NOT grant temporary-worker status to foreigners who are here illegally, as this would make them and their families eligible for government services while they are here. We should not reward people who have broken the law, and this will encourage even more people to enter the United States illegally. **
Statement A/SHOULD grant temporary-worker status..........

Statement B/should NOT grant temporary-worker status......

Case closed?

"--- Furthermore, 63% of Americans support the $35Billion expansion of SCHIP. ---"

63%...? Does that include people in your much-hated flyover country, or is survey only done in big coastal cities packed with leftists?

Well, let's dig, shall we?

According to the special interest group who funded the survey, a certain "Cover the Uninsured" at http://covertheuninsured.org/research/survey0807/ - we have:

"Public Perceptions of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)

Key Findings from A National Survey Conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, August 2007"

Shall we even pretend for a moment that this is a baked survey, where the survey team (based out of Alexandria, VA) polled only 900 people?

And I quote:

"--- Methodology: Public Opinion Strategies conducted a national survey of 900 registered likely voters August 4-7, 2007 on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The sample was drawn proportional to the voting age population in each state. The margin of error is +/-3.27%. ---"

Do 900 people (specifically, 63% of 900 people, or 567 souls) REALLY speak for the entirety of all Americans?

Did they really go down and divvy out the statistical match of Texans and Arkansasans and Wyomingans and Iowans accurate? Is there independent verification of this, or must we take them at their word?

Now, LOL, if you've been paying attention to the many threads about the Frosts and S-CHIP... (for the 11,295th time) ... it isn't the existence of S-CHIP that we are hot and bothered about.

I'd say that the program as it exists, and was approved by Bush'43... finds favour with most Americans.

Where we disagree is the ***--- EXPANSION ---*** of that program by an unconscionable amount, as well as the particular choice of the DNC to trot out a family that is obviously of sufficient means and resources to have provided their own PIP for the kids well before the accident, and even w/o regards to Graeme, a lowlife dad who won't take a second job or even get his wife to work full time (which in itself is close to being an abomination, as it could be misunderstood that Dad is unable or unwilling to support his family) to support their kids.

For the really poor or destitute kids whose parents are unable (but willing) to get insurance, but cannot because of TEMPORARY (un/under)employment ... S-CHIP is nigh unto a godsend.

In fact, if the Frosts had been seeking greater levels of employment or finding a means to insure their kids privately (especially since they would likely be well over any reasonable means tests), I'd have no problem with them using S-CHIP as a TEMPORARY safety net.

I make no pretense as to what my countrymen want and don't want... but I do know that what you disciples of George Soros and other evildoers out there who want to convert our nation into a socialist hell like Norway and Sweden, which have given up their birthright to a roving packs of muslims who ravish their women and take delight in making weak-willed quisling men lick the boots of their Islamist conquerors. It is almost hard to believe that these folks are the descendants of the great Vikings, the very core stock of the white race. Beaten down even in their own homelands... and perhaps deservedly so, for they hate themselves as they have been taught by their socialist elite masters, their own false gods of "humanism".

I can only hope that there are yet some men and women in whose veins flow the blood of the likes of Harald Blatann and Harald Hadrada, or Svein Forkbeard, who will take back their land from the servants of a mongrel god, nay, a demon... as much as we will someday come to such a head in our own nation which threatens to tread down the same failed socialist path of multiculturism and entitlement which will rob future generations of Americans and give to ill-motivated foreigners as well as lazy, shiftless people who want to drain America of her resources and give nothing in return.

Finally, LOL: Thanks, but no thanks... I'm staying put, this is the country that God has given for me to live in. Of course, I invite you to book a one-way ticket to your workers' socialist paradises in al-Sweden and al-Norway. I think you'll be quite at home there with your fellow Islamists and other rabble-rousers who like to live off government largess. Heck, a well-to-do young buck such as yourself might even be willing to pay more than 50% of your income in taxes as a Jizyah to the holy warriors of the moon demon, like a good little dhimmi.

You say that I am an idolater. I'll confess that I have a mean streak that tends to come out especially when dealing with foolish people - the Lord is working that particular sin out of me... but I would like to see any false gods and idols destroyed from our land.

Therefore, would you care to back up your assertions?

Christian charity observes certain biblical limits:

"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread..." (Genesis 3:19a)

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

And the proof text of 1 Timothy 5:3-16, which while specifically addressing widows, may also find its application in any able-bodied person able to work:

"---

Honour widows that are widows indeed.

But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore (60) years old, having been the wife of one man.

Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;

Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

For some are already turned aside after Satan.

If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

---"
(1 Timothy 5:3-16, KJV)

Condensed, this all means that the order of Christian charity falls first to families providing for their own who cannot work or provide for themselves. Then extended family. And then if all else fails, then the Church shall support them.

In this matter, F. Halsey Frost may have failed his children, and may be judged of God to be worse than an infidel.

AlphaLabial writes: "Oh look at this! You guys even offended the way-right-wing Wall St Journal edit page! Good work!"

But the same piece described this skullduggery by the Democratics.

"The bill includes a funding "cliff" that abruptly cuts off the higher spending in year five to conceal its true future costs under Congressional budget rules."

As an aside, how many people would like to wager that ther Dems will do something sneaky like pipe another Defense Appropriations bill with an even fatter S-CHIP hike porked onto it?

Ah, the sweet smell of politics in the morning.

AlphaLabial must have been a mental patient somewhere and busted out. I can prove it. AL wrote this: "WTF?!? Do you guys actually believe this crap? Are you really that anti-Semitic?"

Everyone in the country who follows the news knows that antisemitism is a disease of the Left. Only a disturbed koskid like AL would try to convince people otherwise.

In other news, Mitch McConnell's aide throws Michelle "Anchor Baby" Maglalang under the bus and admits that the Frost smear was bogus from the moment he started it:

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/horsesmouth/2007/10/mcconnell_aide.php

By the way, the lefties are lying about Malkin being fired. She quit. By AL: "Michelle Malkin was canned, in part, for her abuse of a 12-year-old child who disagreed with her."

Read this:

this:http://michellemalkin.com/2007/10/15/stiiiiill-going/

Alan Berg was shot by members of the Aryan Nation following a series of arguments that took place between them on a Denver radio talk show. And what political movement are you talking about that is two degrees(what is that?) removed from Timothy McVeigh? Care to explain that statement?

Note how the lefties spin stories to match their evil dreams. This was the news story: "WASHINGTON -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's spokesman acknowledged yesterday that he alerted reporters last week to questions bloggers raised about the financial circumstances of a 12-year-old boy Democrats had used to urge passage of an expanded children's health insurance program."

Notice the aide, "alerted reporters...to questions raised by bloggers.." But the nutroots interpretation of these fairly innocent words leads them to say this: "Check this out: An aide to GOP leader Mitch McConnell has acknowledged in an interview with Kentucky's Courier-Journal that he actively sought to alert reporters to the wingnut smearing of 12-year-old SCHIP posterkid Graeme Frost"

"--- WTF?!? Do you guys actually believe this crap? (in reference to Geo. Soros) Are you really that anti-Semitic? ---"

Me? I don't care what religion Mr. Soros ascribes to. I don't think it's all that important.

I do see that he wants to contain, and then destroy the USA from its place in the world at the very least, and undermine our liberties and rights to live our lives not under the socialist thumb of uber-elites like Soros and his cronies?

I tend to believe that McVeigh and Nichols were involved with the Islamists. I think McVeigh wanted to be executed so he could get his 72 virgins.

Nichols may have been involved in that plot to blow up 12 airplanes over the Pacific in 1990.

AL, you simpleton, say it over and over again; it still won't be true. I'll even help you: "Fred, he was spreading a smear. And I don't mean on a bagel."

I presented the quotes from the linked article. Where is your proof?

Here is another warped and twisted turd presented to us by AL: "The whole neo-Confederacy movement that is the backbone of the Republicans' Southern Strategy is tied into the Klan and neo-Nazis." A rabid, viscious and fictionalized version of politics from a leftloony.

I've lived in the South since 2004 and spent a lot of time here prior to that. No one I have met here has ever said a word about "neo-Confederacy" much less about a movement of it. What part of the South do you live in that you have knowledge of a neo-Confederacy movement? Evil dreams beget evil fears. Wake up, AL.

Or are you trying to tell me that it is a double-secret movement like the ETs invading our planet in stealth and the "demolition" job on 9/11?

Speaking as a veteran of the War of Northern Damnyankee Agression, I can vouchsafe that the Confederate States of America - as a viable government - are as thoroughly dead as boot leather.

And I too, for that matter.

So many politicians go in poor and come out a lot richer, especially in California it seems. Note, you have to play "guess the party".

http://www.sacbee.com/111/story/434620.html

Shortly after Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez became a point man in the fight to expand health care for the uninsured, his wife accepted a lucrative job with close ties to hospitals that have a massive financial stake in such reform.

Maria Robles was hired as president of the nonprofit Californians for Patient Care in January, one month after Núñez introduced a bill declaring his intent to provide "affordable, quality health care coverage" to all Californians

"--- Here is another warped and twisted turd presented to us by AL: "The whole neo-Confederacy movement that is the backbone of the Republicans' Southern Strategy is tied into the Klan and neo-Nazis." A rabid, viscious and fictionalized version of politics from a leftloony. ---"

And funny thing that. The only "neo-confederate" that comes to mind is Mr. Sneator KKK Kleagle McBeagle Byrd. Or wasn't he also an "Exalted Cyclops" on top of that...?

Must be awful hard having to go through life with only one eye open.

"And funny thing that. The only "neo-confederate" that comes to mind is Mr. Sneator KKK Kleagle McBeagle Byrd. Or wasn't he also an "Exalted Cyclops" on top of that...?

And yet, somehow, he managed to get 100% approval from the NAACP. The same cannot be said of the late Strom Thurmond, who preferred to support the African-American community with his sperm rather than with legislation.

Why, scar, I thought you had more brains. That NAACP name doesn't mean what you think it does. It means National Association Against Conservative People. That is why, without the least embarrassment, they oppose people of color, such as our Secretary of State Rice and Justice Thomas.

Ironic that liberals want to pay for SCHIP expansion by taxing a habit that increases healthcare expenditures. A pack a day habit would cover the cost of a child's insurance policy. Every study I have seen says the poor ae a disproportionate percentage of smokers. If we outlawed smoking altogether the poor would save enough money to buy their kids an insurance policy, improve their kids and their own health, reduce their dependence on social programs, reduce the cost of insurance for everyone by increasing the pool of covered persons. Additionally all that crop land could be used for bio-fuel crops like corn to up supply and reduce cost but also reduce pollution. All this without any more taxes, government agencies, or growth to the welfare class

Tsk. I just realized that the other massively way huge S-CHIp thread ... the one that started it all ... has just disappeared off the first page into obscurity.

*observes a moment of silence*

Ah, 380-post count, we knew thee well.

AL writes: ".... David Duke is a right-winger and former Republican. The whole neo-Confederacy movement that is the backbone of the Republicans' Southern Strategy is tied into the Klan and neo-Nazis."

As a southerner...whose grandfather had quite a few fights with the Klan..You do not have a clue. The Klan was always Democrat..David Duke was a Democrat before he tried to be a Republican..did he get elected statewide...NO. George Wallace was a Democrat, so was Lester Maddox, Justice Black, Sen. Byrd, Al Gore Sr, even Harry Truman had some dealings with the Klan....we could go on and on with this..I do know my grandfather's only dealings with the Klan was shooting at the damn bastards when they tried to harass him....something about paying equal wages to any man no matter what their color during the Great Depression...Oh by the way...He was a rock ribbed Republican from the mountains of Virginia.... So when you talk about the Klan...think of the Democrat Party..the one that did not want to free the slaves...Think about Jim Crow laws...Lynchings. Think about Republican Frank Johnson..US District Court who ordered the integration of the University of Alabama. President Eisenhower (R) who ordered the desegregation of Little Rock High School and Republican Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren...Brown vs Black. Its amazing how much civil rights actually expanded under the GOP vs the Democrat Party.....Civil rights act of 1960..Republican...Civil Rights Act 1984...Republican..Now you can turn to telling more stories about SCHIP...and how we mean bad republicans smeared the Frosts by telling the truth.....That they are 40 year old children who happen too be to busy to take the time out of the frantic day to get a decent job and support their family!!!

More lying Republicans. This time, the GOP* Leader of the United States Senate, lying to his own constituents about a smear job his office was involved with on a 12-year old boy and his family:
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/horsesmouth/2007/10/video_mcconnell.php

There is no getting around that Mitch McConnell is a liar. Your Republican Party.

seeker your talk about polls and how 900 is not enough is just embarassing. You are embarassing yourself and your own lack of knowledge about statistics. Why don't you look up things like margin of error plz? Why don't you actually try to LEARN something about the world instead of pretending like you know everything. (Here's a hint: you don't). No amount of Jesus rubbish will make up for the fact that your post is so full of ignorance that you are embarassing your fellow conservatives. 900 is fine and representative if it is a random sample. Furthermore, I live in "flyover country" but again with the assumptions and the ignorance...

I disagree with ya LOL.

Having lived a good part of my existence in the midwest and in the West proper, as well as in the deep south, and Europe (ick) and most recently, NY... I think that to say that a majority of the flyover lands and non-urban dwellers most likely do not trend as liberal as you might think.

Not everyone out here lives on or near a major city or a college campus, and for that matter, where a LOT of surveys tend to get done are exactly college campuses and major urban areas.

Where - guess what - folks tend to swing more liberally than the typical Joe Paycheck.

A survey is only as good as the political agenda of the folks making it - a group with a name like "CovertheUninsured.org" is certainly going to want to bait and guilt respondents into feeling bad for the "po-ah wittle chid'luns" and may not necessarily represent that a good chunk of that cash cow y'all Democrats want to plump up the budget for will go to a few sneaky or dishonest Democrat minions who might just happen to be upper-middle class people looking to shyster a few bucks out of the gub'mint.

In other words, I'm not convinced that it was an impartial, disinterested survey of what folks out in Biscuit Flats, AZ or Soda Falls, ID might think - but rather those more easily accessed 20-y.o. granola munching radical college students (some of whom are ardent readers of DKos) who haven't bathed in a week and are looking for the that validation for buying a poorly made-in-China "Che" t-shirt at "Hot Topic" for way too much money.

Dude, surveys don't "get done" in a particular place. They use a nationwide pool of telephone numbers, jeezus christ you are stupid

Again, you don't know what you're talking about, so who exactly do you think you're fooling? It's pretty obvious you don't--and seem to never--get out much. Time to think outside your box kid, think outside your block for once

I mean, you didn't even read the link seeker. You clearly have zero curiosity for anything outside of your own ideology and its just a sad testament to how blind you really are.

"The national survey of 900 registered, likely voters was conducted Aug. 4- 7, 2007, by Public Opinion Strategies, Alexandria, Va. The sample was drawn proportional to the voting-age population in each state. The margin of error is +3.27%."

You CAN'T get a margin of error for a poll unless you're taking a random sample from a pool of ALL phone numbers across the nation. They polled people in EVERY state as the article says.

You are a pathetic excuse for an American and it shames me that I probably share the same drinking water with someone so insular, so narrow-minded, so dense...
