Whatever you say, Dingy, though I think dopey might suit you a little better these days:
I normally ignore Rush Limbaugh, but his comments last Wednesday went too far for me to remain silent. It's one thing to call me "Dingy Harry" - it's another to insult our men and women in uniform, calling those who oppose the war "phony soldiers" as Rush did during his Sept. 26 broadcast.
Of course, Rush continued his tirade Monday by denying he had said anything wrong and attacking John Murtha, who served 37 years in the Marines.
This week, 41 Democrats signed a letter to Clear Channel CEO Mark Mays, demanding that Rush apologize.
You can send your own letter to Mays by clicking here.
In December 2006, a poll run by the Military Times found that only 35 percent of service members approved of President Bush's handling of the war in Iraq. Would Rush consider every other Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine to be phony? What about General John Batiste who retired from active duty in order to speak out against this war?
Rush has the courage to sit behind a microphone and lash out at those who oppose George Bush's misadventure in Iraq - yet when it was his time to serve, he received a deferment and has never worn a uniform.
Limbaugh's show is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio, and therefore service members around the world heard his insults. It's time for Clear Channel to make Rush apologize.
Demand that Clear Channel CEO Mark Mays take action by clicking here.
Rush certainly has the right to say whatever he wants - but we have an obligation to speak out when he goes too far.
Thank you,
Harry Reid

did u even listen to the show? obviously not!!! i am the mother of one of those brave soldiers in Iraq. the phony soldiers mr limbaugh was referring to were men who NEVER SERVED A DAY IN IRAQ but carried medals and told stories that made it appear they were. Unlike you...I was actually listening to the show! I am trying very hard to understand how a man who NEVER showed any support for my son and his fellow soldiers can now pull a rabbit out of his hat and suddenly be appalled over a comment YOU NEVER EVEN HEARD let alone SUBSTANTIATED.

Whoopie. The newsflash here is that servicemen think the brass is full of **it. If you took a poll of WWII GIs, I'm sure they though FDR was FUBAR and Civil War soldiers thought that Lincoln was screwing up the war (which he did, basically, until he found his Grant.) I'll bet Washington's soldiers at Valley Forge would have given him a solid 10% approval rating. Hey Reid, soldiers usually have plenty to carp about, and they are probably justified. Its the nature of the beast. Hell, ask ANY worker about his boss in ANY job and see what the respect and approval rate is. Probably well less than 36% (of course whatever poll's ass Reid pulled that out of we don't know, Dems love to cherry-pick).
Bush had to find his Grant. He has, now things have changed completely, by almost any and all accounts. Take the poll in a year, I'd bet even the grunts will have cheered up.

Anyone who actually listens to that bloated drug addict should be cannon-fodder - I mean, SERVING, in Iraq. America doesn't need any more dopes. The Mexicans mow our lawns, the Chinese make our shiny toys - unless you have a brain - you are obsolete.

Bob Newhart had a great skit about a complaining soldier in Washington's army.

Exactly, Bob, I am in full agreement, anyone...and I mean...anyone...who listens to that bloated drug addict(he has to be, he can't possibly be that stupid) Harry (Dingy) Reid should be shot...right now...with a cannon...just like you say. Thank you for your "brainy" service!

Mr christamfordmum, Senator Harry Reid isn't as you described him: "Anyone who actually listens to that bloated drug addict..." Actually he's a skinny little dweeb who gets his kicks not from drugs but from making corrupt money from shady Nevada land deals. I think he must be, like you, a stone civilian. Because of his age, however, he must have been a draft dodger.
