A current headline at Think Progress. But was the "Right-wing" actually enraged? Let's take a look.
Right Wing Enraged: Laura Bush Is A ‘Butt-Kisser’ For Wearing Headscarf In Mideast
When I saw the pic I thought what I usually think when seeing a pic of the First Lady, she's an attractive woman. TP quoted Debbie Schlussel - twice, the Standard's Goldfarb and lgf. I respect their right to take exception to it but how did things go broadly-speaking across the Right?
You can time set and check Memeorandum - it never popped up as a Meme all day.
Allah mentioned it at Hot Air and had one TrackBack. Several subsequent posts had from 4 - 8.
Sorry I missed it, guess I was too enraged! The self-marginalization of sites like Think Progress and Media Matters due to their incessant need to over-reach is at least gratifying, if nothing else.
The only Meme growing around the whole thing is now, thanks to Think Progress. And it didn't even make the top tier. Weak ... really weak.

Nuanced. With Layers.

STOP LEARING AT THE PRESIDENT'S WIFE!
Seriously, though, either it's ok to wear a headscarf or it's not. After the apopletic fit you guys went into over the Pelosi visit to Syria - where only Democratic Congresspeople were not allowed to tread - the obsession with Mid-East fashion has been absolutely wonky. I mean, if you're going to complain about anything, the first complaint on your list should be Bush in a dress.

Thankfully, it was IRAQI terrurists that attacked on 9/11. Woulda looked bad otherwise.
Mission Accomplished!!!

" I wonder what you patriots think when you see this picture"
You probably should have asked that probing question about people's "feelings" a year or so ago when that photo was new. A better question is why you consider the term "patriot" to be derogitory.

Looks to me like Bush may be looking down on rocky or uneven ground. I don't think the crown prince has much experience on walking on that kind of terrain. He's probably a lot more used to red carpets and gleaming marble palace floors. I think GWB was trying to help him get along. It's fun to look at old photos isn't it, Boob?

I see that the patriots have little explanation as to what their cowardly male cheerleader does. Their pride and valor always shines through.
SURGE ON!!! Never allow those Iraqis to attack America AGAIN!!!

Another Bush disappointment.
I don't think Mrs. Thompson would bother to wear that headgear of Islamist oppression, if she had to meet with Saudi royalty.

It's fun to act like an old poop head isn't it , Boob. Here is the Pres. trying to help a fat old crown prince, no less, down the rocky path of life about six decades ago, more or less, and you jump on him.

Thanks for linking my post, sorry for the double trackbacks, not sure how that happened.
No one can believe anything they read at "Think Progress."
