Having spent too many years in New Jersey, I can tell you that from Burlington County in the south to Essex County in the north and just about every other NJ county, this is only the tip of the ice berg. A combination of one party rule and the liberal Democrat agenda has resulted in the Garden State becoming a swamp of incompetence and corruption.
And I wouldn't want to be holding my breath while waiting for any serious reform. It's just about beyond saving and the rest of the country better become accustomed to subsidizing failed Democrat states like New Jersey. They can't attract enough new business and the most productive portions of their populations are fleeing in droves due to out of control regulation, taxes, and corruption.

Since Jon Corzines recent election to Governor of New Jersey he has raised taxes on everyone. Sales Tax ,user fees , cigarette tax, alcohol tax etc. In fact the vice tax affects the poor the most . Now on top of all his taxes he has ordered our homes revaluated for property tax. Result is many of us were increased 20-30% in one shot. Frankly I did better with the Bush Tax Cuts for the Rich.
Every local politician I contacted told me it was a state mandated Reassessment.

I was born and raised in New Jersey and it was a great place to grow up. But it has changed drastically for the worse in the past 30 years, including the imposition of an income tax (1977) which steadily grew to one of the highest in the country.
The state has been inundated with refugees from NY City -- most of them voted for socialism, multiculturalism, restrictions on Second Amendment rights, and lax responses to violence and property crime. When those policies tanked made NYC unsafe, hostile to small business, and hostile to normal European-American mores, they came to NJ and did it all over again. Most of them seem to have learned nothing from their experience in NY. (Some of these jackasses have since retired to Florida and inflicted their left-wing idiocy on yet ANOTHER state.)
Large portions of New Jersey have also become Third World ghettos where incredible noise, congestion, litter, and illiteracy prevail, and our common language & traditional culture are nowhere to be found. This is especially true of Hudson County, but it's by no means confined to that county.

Wow, Mr. christamfordmum, now you are against literacy, quiet, and clean streets? Aways full of surprises, aren't we? You really are a "progressive".

Yeah, Americaforever, you should never criticize the brown and black people who are Democrats, no matter the crimes they are accused or convicted of. You are only allowed to criticize brown and black people who happen to be conservative. You may slander them in any way, from putting them into blackface, accusing them of being Uncle Toms or Aunt Jemimas, or perhaps Juan Valdez.
