Chuck Schumer has to be one of, if not the most despicable politician in Washington. His performance here is pathetic.
Allah has the background and also see Sweetness and Light. The coward didn't even have the courage to post his actual words on the web.
The violence in Anbar has gone down despite the Surge, not because of the Surge. The inability of American soldiers to protect these tribes from Al Qaeda said to these tribes: We have to fight Al Qaeda ourselves.
Absolutely despicable. Ultimately enough of America will reject Schumer and any other losers that sign on to his nonsense to send them scurrying for cover back under their rocks where they belong.

you're a dreamer, dan. "america" will no more "reject schumer" and his ilk than they have a massachusetts senator obviously guilty of second-degree murder; or an west virginia self-admitted KKK senior leader. ("kleagle", "klaxon", "senate democrat majority leader" ... some ridiculous name like that.)
kennedy and byrd have more than 85 years in the senate between them. they've won every election they've entered, and they'll win every election they choose to enter, until they **die**. dick durbin said *much* scummier things about the troops earlier this year, and it's understood by all that he'll win re-election quite easily. beyond just winning elections, though, these asswipes are continually lauded in the press as great leaders. senior statesmen. great men - worthy of respect and admiration. the boston globe actually ran a puff piece on kenendy earlier this year that started with the jaw-dropping phrase, "if mary jo kopechne had lived, she'd be being taken care of by legislation that our beloved & noble senator ted kennedy has passed over the years ..."
that ain't "rejection".

Poor, sad 'bloodrage' bob. Raging about Ted Kennedy and the Klan at 2AM. Here's a newsflash, redneck - this is OLD, OLD news.
Here's some more news. You patriots lost your silly little war. That stuttering leader of yours made sure of that years ago.
SURGE OFF!

"Petraeus, during his confirmation hearings in January, told Congress that there was no possibility of a military victory in Iraq, only a political solution. And by this critical measure, he concedes the surge is faltering."
Is he saying anything substantially different?

It would be ironic if it werent so disturbing: from Al Gore's hysterical destruction of American's faith in their electoral system to wishing America defeat in Iraq, liberals are working on destroying trust and faith in the US government and its positions of authority. That's one of the reasons we have so many "Truthers" today. Like the anarchists of the early 20th century, they feel like tearing down everything is the best way to achieve power, since they can't do it by presenting their case fairly and straightforwardly to the public.
Liberals seek power by obfuscating their true motives (like campaigning for state's rights on gay marriage, but with a secret wink to the gay lobby of what they will do once in office, and other chicanery).
The only way these slimy creeps ever achieve power is when they win by default, when the Republicans shoot themselves in the foot with stuff like Mark Foley, Ted Stevens, Larry Craig and RINOs like Warner and Chuck Hagel.
The other thing is that the nutroots have firmly embraced these tactics: tell the big lie often and loudly and act as if its the truth, the MSM dutifully parrots their lies, and the US public is left trying to sort out the real truth.
I think EVENTUALLY President Bush will be vindicated and respected in history, if for nothing else, in the fact he rarely responds to this crap and NEVER demagogues or takes cheap shots, no matter what is said about him. He, his wife and most of his administration is unbelievably classy and professional, especially compared to the previous Clinton jack-asses. Even his guru, Rove, never said the kind of dispicable crap people like Rahm Emmanuel, James Carville and Sidney Blumenthal used to spout.
It is VERY terrifying to think, if the Republicans screw up, those people will be back in charge. Its horrifying. The damage to the country could be irreversable.

thinking citizens which are few, will reject Schumer for the partisan comments he made about our troops. You have to remember he is from New York, and gets the majority of his votes from NY City. A town long disconnected from the real USA.

Dear BobInStamford,
"Poor, sad 'bloodrage' bob. Raging about Ted Kennedy and the Klan at 2AM. Here's a newsflash, redneck - this is OLD, OLD news.

Bob, I was very concerned when I read the above. I'm now fully convinced that some malicious cretin has assumed your identity and is now spewing out incoherent, spittle-flecked, factually inaccurate postings over your good name. If I were you, I'd launch an immediate investigation to insure no further damage is done to your integrity. Justice demands it!

The Boob writes: "You patriots lost your silly little war."
There are only a few things about this noble expression of love of country that are on the incorrect side: First, the war is far from being lost; in fact it is quite clear the enemy is being defeated. Second, by the use of the words "your...war" the Boob is implying only conservatives voted to go to war, which is completely untrue; the majority of both parties voted to support the war, and more than once. Third, though the war is relatively "little" there is absolutely nothing silly about it, nothing. Otherwise, he is right on the money with this little jewel of a comment.

Could one request a link for this Spart?

It was a direct quote from the globe today in reference to his january confirmation hearing.

"Absolutely despicable. Ultimately enough of America will reject Schumer and any other losers that sign on to his nonsense to send them scurrying for cover back under their rocks where they belong."
Hehe. Yeah, I bet Schumer is going to have a tough re-election bid what with his intensely popular anti-war stance. That's why his approval ratings are... 60% Wow. That's amazingly high compared to, say, Cornyn in Texas or *snicker* Craig in Idaho.
I'm sure little Chuck will get pitched right out of office right after we make Bush President For Life.

so the noble and honorable liberals line up to defend their heroes.
"the killer senator and the KKK senator did those things a long time ago!"
"the senator making the treasonous comments has high approval ratings!"
as the age-old debate continues: are liberals more *stupid*, or more *contemptible*? nature or nurture? spineless or hypocritical?

Sorry Spart, I couldn't find any link like the one you suggested at the Globe. But I did find this:
"But there will be no such excuse for those who insist on pulling out of Iraq. For they know only too well what horrors Al Qaeda and its jihadist allies are capable of. Beheadings. Suicide bombings. Lynchings. Child murder. Chlorine gas attacks. Bali. Madrid. 7/7.
9/11.
We are in a war with barbarians who proclaim their love of death and revel in the slaughter of innocents -- and are fighting to win. We can choose to settle for defeat in Iraq, but far from ending the war, it will only make it more difficult and deadly. The price Americans will pay if they abandon Iraq will be steep. The price Iraqis pay will be steeper.
Jeff Jacoby's e-mail address is jacoby@globe.com."

Sen. UpChuck Screwmore (Schumer) will remain senator as long as he wants until he either kicks the bucket, or is caught molesting babies somewhere.
And even that second limitation is by no means a guarantee: NY senators need only pitch to the NYC vote and _maybe_ the campus towns of Buffalo and Syracuse to ensure their continued patronage. Last year, we hardly heard boo from Hitlary, and the go 'round before that, barely a peep from Screwmore: but run down into the city, and they were the only game in town.
As for the rest of us Red Staters in the real New York State, we will just have to keep getting our teeth kicked in every (alternating sets of) six years, until the Good Lord decides to punch their tickets, and hopefully that when we get a Republican governor (fat chance of that happening again soon - see above bits with NYC issue).
