Today John Edwards said "'Pretty Soon We’re Not Going to Have a Young African-American Male Population in America" and it hasn't even risen to a blip on Memeorandum. Video of Edwards here. When he can't even generate a bunch of attention over such a stupid remark, he's done.
Aside from that fact, I believe a majority of America has had their fill of that pathetic sort of rhetoric from the liberal Left. Along with it not being close to accurate, the Nanny state is not the answer for the subset of America's Black population trapped in poverty, primarily in our liberal-run urban centers.
In significant part, the New Deal turned out to be a raw deal for elements of the American population which admittedly had significant challenges to overcome due to our nation's history. Johnson's not so Great Society added insult to injury and only made the problems nearly intractable. The more the government undermines local institutions, churches and families in our inner cities, the more tragic will be the costs of decades of liberal failure.
Fortunately, more and more Black Americans are getting around to figuring that out. And they won't be shut down by rich, white liberal politicians and a few high profile race bating Black scam artists who have been promising them everything and delivering nothing of long term value to them for years.
The particular portion of the Black population suffering as per above has to get over being victims, or victims they will remain.

Black America needs heroes like the Decider, who was busy playing his guitar during Katrina. A true hero, that Decider. Surge on, GOP patriots!

It just goes to show what a devastating, enormous force the nutroots has become in the Dem party. Edwards is crushing Hilary! in nutroots' polls, like by 40% points or more. Its only a matter of when, not if, Hilary! faces reality and withdraws, in the face of such overwhelming superiority by the nutroots darling John "Peachcroft" Edwards.
Its also a tribute to the AMAZING power of the nutroots to harness campaign contributions, which has so enriched the Edwards campaign coffers he has been able to eschew Federal matching funds (until today).

No...no...African Americans need heros like BobtheBoob. He is so inspiring to black people. He is able to act like a boob on a moments notice, and is sure to get the best out of people. What a hero!

You could not possibly be more right! What the left has done to black culture in this modern era is a total, 100%, unmitigated shame. They have squandered the lessons of the civil rights era by singing to the Bobs of the world, the wholey unenlightened racist partisans of the demo left. It is so tragic. Damn, I know karma is a bitch that does not work in my time frame, but the Bobs of the world are so evil, so destructive, so hateful and so ignorant that I wish wish wish that I got to see their comeuppance: When black, white, brown, whatever could break free of the easy ignorance of the dimo/msm influence and see that it is ONLY through free markets, captialism and conservo values that they can acheive, rise up and overcome. So sad that the Bobs of the world, with their inherently racist, sexist and homophobic "easy answers" are the problem and not the cure...

Has anybody seen my husband, Bob? He was last seen riding off into the sunset while perched on the backseat of a Harley driven by a rugged-looking tough guy with a beer belly gut. I think they may be more than mere "friends."

Heard a news report yesterday that Congress (the Dims) are going to consider adding a $0.50/gal gas tax increase to their wonderful and long list of legislative achievements. I would guess they plan to really pass a $0.35/gal bill and say, "See, we saved you $0.15 a gallon."
This would really help them in 2008.

Yup, I'm sure the Dems really want to see the howling that will ensue from the consumers paying $4.75/gal for gas next summer:
That'd be the $0.50 tax, along with the mandatory $1.05/gal summertime ethanol/Ahmadinejad/Hezbollah/Syria Farts/AGW Carbon idiocy inflation of the gas prices before the taxes.
Between that, and the removal of various deductions for property taxes, we will all be reduced to equal levels of poverty and be living at the bottom of the payscale and feasting on that gubmint cheese in no time flat!
