I like and respect Newt, think he has a great mind for issues and wouldn't at all mind seeing him in an administration - just don't think he'd play well on a ticket. Looks as though he doesn't think so, either.
WASHINGTON - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will not run for president in 2008 after determining he could not legally explore a bid and remain as head of his tax-exempt political organization, a spokesman said Saturday.
"Newt is not running," spokesman Rick Tyler said. "It is legally impermissible for him to continue on as chairman of American Solutions (for Winning the Future) and to explore a campaign for president

Newt would have been singularly able to blow Hitlary or any of the other numbskull dhimmis running for the Democratic ticket.
But c'est la vie... plus, he's got plenty of skeletons in his closet to serve as fodder for much campaign nastiness.
Perhaps some more folks may find themselves pulling for Fred!

If I were a Republican candidate (no, Fred, not this again) running against Hillery, I would counter her offer to give $5000 of someone else's money to each newborn American with an offer like this. "I'll match Hill's $5000 and raise her $100,000. Thanks to what seems to be public acceptance, because of the lack of outrage over this absurd socialistic idea, $5000 is mere peanuts. Not only that, I would ask the Congress to increase this amount to match the yearly rate of inflation. Now mommy and daddy, who's your daddy?"

viewing the sorry state of affairs we are going through, i would give $5,000 to each person not having a child. that was my first thought.
