Why just today I commented on Pajamas Media, yesterday too. I used to go to Marc Cooper's blog to try to engage the Left. While Marc himself is a reasonable guy, many of his regular commenters are schumks. One of those disgusting and snobbish p---ks lists daily the American military who were killed the day before. He lists name, rank, branch of service, hometown, and, I think, age. Is this the kind of "open and logical discourse" you had in mind? Most of the patter there concerns debate on the finer points and nuances of socialism and revolutionary action. They get into petty disagreements about which of them is more revolutionary. P--s on them.

Some other blogs are pretty good, but you either have to fill out a form with your life history or there are 572 commenters and one's comments would be a face in a large crowd. I come here because Dan is easy to get along with, he favors free expression, unless one is completely off base, I like his selection of topics and summaries with links, I like Dan's politics, I like most of the other commenters, some of whom are very smart, and Dan's blog has good visibility with other bloggers.
