Captains Quarters goes with the media story on the ship Al Hamed, said to have delivered cement to Syria right before an Israeli air raid.
The Al Hamed does not make frequent trips to the Mediterranean. In fact, Solomon only found one other listing for its transit, and that occurred in June of this year. In both cases, it flagged itself as South Korean for its deliveries to Syria, even though the DPRK owned the ship until this summer.
But using Google cache, someone claims to have found more. See here and here for details.
Dr. Aaron Lerner of IRMA followed up on a report in Sunday's Haaretz that identified the vessel Al Hamed as having visited the Syrian port of Tartous on 3 September, searching for the same vessel using the cache option of the Google search engine. The results indicate that the same vessel also visited that port at the end of June and July, both times listing cement as the commodity it was carrying and Tripoli Lebanon as its previous port of call.
