Hookah Madness: What Are All These People Smoking?

I did a little searching after reading this bit from NRO: h/t Instapundit.

But this is an amazing victory. In Vancouver, infidels can't smoke but Muslims can:

Vancouver's hookah-parlour owners are celebrating after winning an exemption Thursday from a proposed new bylaw that will ban smoking on most sidewalks in commercial districts, in bus shelters and even in taxis passing through Vancouver

Evidently, Hookahs have been very much in the news, including a recent New York Times piece on the dangers of hookah smoke. Miss Tuscola, IL lost her crown after being photographed in a hookah bar. It looks like Michigan is home to a new hookah bar. There was a hookah involved in the bust of a Long Island "Nazi" gal?

Hookah madness, or hookah-mania running wild? What are these people smoking?

Some would see this as cowtowing to Muslims. I really have no problem with it. I know most of the customers are middle-eastern men, but as long as they don't discriminate...
The bars are where they socialize. Without the hookah part, it'd be pretty pointless, and they'd have to go out of business.
I'm a smoker in California. The no-smoking nazis are getting pretty bad here as well. You'd think we were spraying the general public with serin gas!
