h/t Instapundit for this video of Katie Couric. I don't care how many war zones CBS opts to ship Katie to, eventually they just need to face the fact that they made one of the largest mistakes in the history of newsanchor-dom in hiring her and move on. She's unbearable to watch without being on a couch with a coffee table fronting. But then, I couldn't really watch her then, either. It's supposed to be news, Katie - if you ever have some, share it. If not, then please just shut up.

Haven't been able to watch her since she was perky and I was a lefty. Back in the 90s. She went perfectly with that silly, self-indulgent decade. This decade, not so much. Her lack of depth and mental acuity are really showing, and it matters now.

not too sure network anchor success hinges on IQ. dan rather was/is an *obvious* frickin' IDIOT, and he did ok. same for geraldo, for that matter. and don't even get me started on that moron olbermann. katie just needs to relax, and do that 'suck the golf ball through 30 ft. of garden hose' trick on camera. start having interactive audience-building contests. "win a date with katie!" "winner gets to screw katie!". that kind of thing. maybe CBS could preempt that really classy, well-written show where they try to kill some teenagers for the big finale. "the katie couric gangbang special! wednesday at 9 eastern, 8 central."
