Michigan has moved its primary to January 15 and the Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholme says the date is certain and final.
To counter, behind the scenes at the White House, at the insistence of the outgoing Karl Rove, Bush has signed an executive order removing 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 from the calendar, extending his term to 2012. The Supreme Court is expected to uphold the calendar shift - it's something like Daylight Savings Time on steroids, only better, said one source.
According to sources, when asked if this might not make Bush's liberal Democrat critics a bit crazy, they already are, said Rove.

If this date-shuffling of primaries keeps going at its current pace... they'll be setting primary dates for 2008 back to July of 2006.

Heh, if they set the primaries back too far, Kerry will be running on the D side.
