A total aside in the bomb scare coverage - but hilarious. A report and comment via the Post and Courier:
An eyewitness, Jack Knuoff, said he saw police make a traffic stop where three police officers were talking with one man who might have been of Middle Eastern descent around 6 p.m.
Knuoff, who was sitting at the scene in a lawn chair, said he didn't think the stop was important, and went home, but returned after his brother called to say more police had been called to the scene.
Comment:
So your reporter is getting her information from "Jack Knuoff"?
Is everyone in South Carolina this dumb?

"Is everyone in South Carolina this dumb?"
Just the journalists.

That article wouldn't by chance have a Bart Simpson byline, would it?

Sort of reminds me of the scene in American Graffiti when the gal in the burger stand was on the PA system asking if anyone had seen Mike Hunt.

Actually the Mike Hunt scene was in "Porky's" and yes, everyone in South Carolina is that stupid. You know how you can tell? They live in South Carolina.

and yes, everyone in South Carolina is that stupid.
Let's analyze this story. Nita Birmingham covers crime and police in Berkeley and Dorchester counties. She has worked as a reporter for 15 years at newspapers in Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana and Florida. She has spent most of her career covering police, courts and prisons. She is a native of Alabama and a University of Georgia graduate. Mr. "Knoff" on the other hand appears to be a local resident. Who's the genius?

Only the Republicans.

ha ha. I LOVE the lawn chair. hahaha. The "Jack Knuoff" translated by the slow drawl of the Low Country would sound like this: Jack K N U Off. (jacking you off)
Now who wants to say South Carolinians are stupid?
He brought a LAWN CHAIR to watch! :)

Was the name "Jack Knuoff" in the original report? Because if it was, it's gone now.

"Was the name "Jack Knuoff" in the original report?"
Yep. I hit the link yesterday and it was there. The article has been updated since and now Jack is just referred to as "the witness" -- so apparently the morons still think a guy who PUNKED THEM HARD is still credible. Go figure.

Is there any way to get a screen shot or a cached page with "Jack Knuoff" still in it?
Posted by: Andrew Bryant | Sunday, August 05, 2007 at 03:30 PM
It's still shows in Google's cache of the story.
