The Politico has a piece up on the Dems and DailyKos:
“They’re so painfully craving any type of mainstream acceptance that they’re prone to the crassest kind of flattery and pandering, which weakens them,” said a senior aide to a Democratic campaign of the bloggers. Recalling a lavish party then-candidate Mark Warner threw at the 2006 YearlyKos convention in Last Vegas, the aide noted: “Mark Warner bought them off with a fountain and some chocolate strawberries.”
...As the candidates see it, Armenians have the Turkish genocide, Cubans have Castro, and the Netroots have Bill O’Reilly, who has been crusading against Daily Kos, which he calls a “hate site,” on his Fox show.
A good read and true, as far as it goes. But bloggers, conservative and liberal have a voice that the Mainstream media can be fond of listening to, or at least amplifying, at times. I wouldn't count on the Netroots to not bite the hand that feeds them, it's part of why they're called the Nut-roots in some circles. And not all of those circles are Republican.

Here's as good a place as any to note Newt Gingrich doesn't support the troops -- or that's the conclusion so many rightwingnumbnutz would reach if anyone else said this: the Bush Administration is "losng the war on terrorism, warning that the country is losing ground against the kind of Islamic radicals who attacked the country on Sept. 11, 2001.
A more effective approach, said Gingrich, would begin with a national energy strategy aimed at weaning the country from its reliance on imported oil and some of the regimes that petro-dollars support.
"None of you should believe we are winning this war. There is no evidence that we are winning this war," the ex-Georgian told a group of about 300 students attending a conference for collegiate conservatives

Willy, I think Newt is referring to this war "...the Bush Administration is "losng[sic] the war on terrorism,..." not the war in Iraq , which is just a part of the war on terrorism. Given that your Dem majority has been deceived, threatened with being cast out of office, and forced to kowtow to the anti-war Far Left by folks like you, he has a point. We will need both sides of the aisle to win the "war on terrorism".

Newt jumped the shark years ago.

Well what do you expect when we have the Dems doing everything short of shooting our soilders... oh ya they started to do that to haven't they.
We have a fifth column in this country and it is the far left of the Democratic party.

"the Bush Administration is "losng[sic] the war on terrorism,..." not the war in Iraq , which is just a part of the war on terrorism" - Fred? Are you ok? I use this quote in hopes it might penetrate your skull just how stupid the line is. Are you really Al Gonzales? Are you clarifying Newt's statements? Parsing - another way of lying.

Are you kidding me, The Young Turks (Ataturks' progressives) wiped out most of the Turks in Armenia; Hitler was reportedly impreseed by that. Fidel, has turned
Cuba into a charnel house and a Soviet pawn. And Bill O'reilly haapens to point
out that Kos was the one's who said of American's filleed over the Fallujah bridge, "Screw Um, They're Mercenaries" Were disheartened because the Bagram attack din't kill Cheney, and are the first to deny any terror attack or plot.
Is that equal in any way.
