Tough to know what to make of Amanda Marcotte's response to this post in which I asked if some radical feminists endorse child abuse. Something about how her Dad liked to stick needles in his arm, blindfold her as a child and then stick mushrooms in her mouth? Is that some sort of femi-nazi code?
The weird part is, she seems to have liked it. And the post is illustrated in a rather bizarre, hopefully not too Freudian manner. Go figure. I doubt any the-rapist could sort this chick out. Is she simply trying to tell us she's still yearning for some Mickey D's? Or is there another message here?
My father,
who likes good food to say the least, pretty much preferred driving needles into his arms rather than eating lunch at McDonald’s,sohe went on a parenting rampage to break us ofpicky eating and junk foodyearnings. I’ve told the story before of how he blindfolded us and made us eatdifferent kinds of pizzato show that we liked mushrooms better than we though(t), which was part of a larger program of breaking usof picky eating. I recall that some people were quick to liken that to child abuse, which I find a little overdramatic, .... I found his methods to be an enjoyable challenge....
Strange gal, that Amanda.
