This is only the beginning of God's wrath upon our nation:

For we have turned our backs on Israel.

Remember Genesis 12:1-3 ---

"---

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and *curse* him that *curseth thee:* and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

---"

* (emphasis mine)

Oh 'Lord' - what a nut. God is now punishing commuters. I now need to go and 'pray' that you don't reproduce.

Amen.

"--- God is now punishing commuters. ---"

Not specifically, but He does judge nations for their _national_ sins... and especially what they do regarding God's promise to the Children of Abraham (which promise was inherited by Jacob - who is also called Israel.

Neither Ishmael (the son of a servant-woman) nor Esau (who sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil soup) have a share nor a portion in that inheritance.

Regard well, and take heed to History:

The Empire of Babylon persecuted Israel and take Judah into captivity. Today? It is what remains of Iraq, itself taken captive.

Medo-Persia (under Darius and Cyrus) conquered Babylon. They fared well for a while, but later anti-Semitic feeling grew. Look up "Haman and Esther" for details on that. Today? It is Iran, under the thuggish dominion of its mullahs.

The Alexandrian Greek Empire fell apart, but not one of its successor states treated the Jews very well. Antiochus Epiphanes defiled the temple mount, and conducted population reduction campaigns in Palestine.

Rome followed next, and held the region under the sword, eventually destroying the Temple as prophesied by Jesus, in AD 70. It too, was destroyed in due course... and while the successor state of the Byzantines was somewhat more equitable, and allowed the Jews in Diaspora among them to live in relative peace, that realm was absorbed by the Caliphate.

The Caliphate also imploded as a result of WW1.

The UK had numerous luminaries that advanced the cause of Zionism, to bring the Jewish people back to their homeland, the E'retz Yisro'el, but were stymied by others in the British Government who saw the oil buried under the sands of their mandates in Araby. Yet the UK, which once shone from one corner of the earth to the other with the glory of the sun never departing from it... is today a second-rate economic power, if not militarily as well.

Hitler and the Third Reich were not only anti-semitic, but openly allied themselves with Araby to seek the slaughter of Jewry. And we saw the outcome of that, as Hitler's Germany suffered divine wrath in the form of its economy ruins and its people humbled to eating scraps of garbage and dead rats to survive.

And, it appears that we are now also inviting God's vengeance - His curse - upon us, for turning our backs on His Chosen People: on top of our other national sins and wickedness, where we have become as Sodom and Gomorrah for our selfishness and wicked immorality... shall He not righteously judge our America with wrathful, violent judgments?

America was a great nation as long as she obeyed God, kept His commandments, and honored her True Sovereign Lord by protecting the weak, defending the Jew and the Christian, and holding up the Law.

But now, for rejecting Israel... we too, shall disappear into the dustbin of history, as God prepares the world for the return of His beloved Son, who shall ride forth at the last trumpet in victory, with myriads of His angels and saints to slay the unrepentant who continue in wicked rebellion against God.

Wow - total batshit insanity!!! I love it! So you're saying (I couldn't get past the 1st couple of paragraphs because it reads like the Unibomber Manifesto) that God isn't able to punish individuals but goes on the basis of nationality because it's easier?? That ain't much of a God you have there, wackyboy!

Anyway. Amen.

No, you are mistaken, and have misunderstood my statements.

I'm saying that God judges nations for the actions of their peoples. The bigger the nation and the more influence that it has, the more accountable it is under God. By that - the USA is accountable for far more before God than say, a small nation like Sierra Leone or somewhere else (although that nation too, is judged of God for the actions of its peoples.

However, God also judges the individual person in addition to the judgment his nation might face.

The reason for this is that nations (usually) have a far greater lifespan than individual people. Furthermore, a nation is judged in this world, whereas the judgment that we (Christians) speak of concerning the individual is judged at before God, after that individual is dies.

Christians have Jesus Christ as their advocate in Judgment, as He has removed the penalty for our sins. For the unsaved, they face a Righteously Angry God, who must judge them in accordance with their sins.

As I said though, nations can only be judged in this world (the political entities of this world have no meaning in the Kingdom of Christ which is to come, since He will directly rule over this world from Jerusalem). See Psalm 2 for more on that. Because of that - God judges nations as they either sin collectively or obey God's laws collectively -- both of which have ongoing and tangible results.

Our acceptance and mainstreaming of the LGBT "lifestyle", and pre-term casual/"birth-control" abortion -- along with the marginilization of God from the public sphere, and a garbage "pop" culture that glorifies "T&A" and trashy, idiotic behaviour by celebrities, as well as a general increase in extreme selfishness and tolerance, if not a desire for excessive wickedness by the average person... yes, "chris", these things add up to bringing down God's judgment on our nation.

Some of that judgment is indirect in terms of the real-time consequences of our actions, and some of it is by divine purpose (natural disasters, etc.)

So Paris Hilton caused your 'God' to make a bridge fall down in Minnesota and kill little kids? Fascinating stuff.

Seek, What was God mad at us about in 1967 when 46 people were killed on the Silver Bridge between West Virginia and Ohio. What was he mad at us for that brought on the two World Wars? I don't mean to be rude, believe what you want, but you're starting to sound like that crazy Phillip's family in Kansas.

Tally:

If you are referring to Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church out of Topeka Kansas (the "godhatesfags.com" guy) ... no, I don't subscribe to much anything he has to say.

My point is that a nation - any nation - that turns its back on God, and rejects His commandments, and pursues selfish vanity from the top to the bottom... it is already doomed.

You see, God's laws are as immutable as the laws of gravity and thermodynamics: there may be events that seem to nullify or defy those laws, but in due course, the airplane must land, and it must come to a standstill.

To summarize the _principle_ behind Deuteronomy 28, it describes God's blessings for a nation that obeys Him and seeks to do kindness and mercy to those who dwell in the land; to those who chase after idols (be they "American Idols", or riotous living, or excessive wealth and hedonistic pleasures) ... God's wrath and curse abides on such a land filled with such people.

Disasters come and go to be certain... and I don't purport to be a prophet, nor am I channeling Pat Robertson or any of those other "televangelist" idiots who speak thus and thus as "the word of the Lord".

Nor do I claim to know the mind of the Lord as to why He permitted WW1/WW2 to happen: I can deduce that excessive pride (arrogance -- particular by the Imperial German elites) and perhaps the blood of the Armenians crying out against the Ottoman Turks, the blood of the Serbs crying out against the Croats (backed by Austria Hungary) and Bosniaks (backed by the Ottomans), or the Jews (!) and non-Russian ethnics in the USSR who were affected by the Holomdor. Any or all of these things may have played as factors in God's judgment. Especially if it concerned... the Jews (!). After all, God is not slack about His promises as some count slackness (2 Peter 3:9), particularly regarding His Chosen People.

This is all the more why I state without reservation: if we do change our policy toward Israel, and turn our faces against them, then I can GUARANTEE that there will be a marked and dramatic uptick in disasters, calamities, and lawlessness: all of that in ADDITION to the direct effect of appeasing militant, extremist Islam, as we see Americans butchered by murderous jihadists.

The reason I think that we are moving irrevocably toward national judgment (i.e. facing divine wrath) is because our modern American society not only is heaping sin upon sin, but our leadership (not just the politicians, but the pop culture industry, the media, the near-criminalization of the truth -- that there is only one Saviour, Jesus Christ) -- all of these things point to the death throes of a nation -- indeed, the dying spasms of a once great empire.

Consider Europe - and in particular, the United Kingdom. In the late 1800s, they were the great sending churches for missionaries. Today? 0.7% of Britons even _believe_ in Jesus Christ, and a great many haven't even heard of Him outside of vague cultural references or swear words that take His Name in vain. And, it is a second rate nation even now -- about to become a fourth-rate nation trodden under by Islam. Just like Jesus said, when "salt hath lost its savour".

It is not too late, for the Bible promises that "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV) ... but time is indeed running out.

God is incredibly patient (longsuffering), but once He has determined that Justice will be done, there is NOTHING that can stop Him from taking vengeance: "...Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord". (Romans 12:19b)

Chris/Bob/whoever you are: Please re-read what I wrote... Repeating myself gets tiresome. Understand that no one particular symptom (i.e. "Paris Hilton" acting like a spoiled brat and displaying tragicomic levels of personal idiocy as well as flouting laws) caused God's judgment; it is the aggregation of our national sin, our aggragate rejection of God, and finally, our repudiation and possibly persecution of God's people that brings down His wrath upon the nation.

Re-read that again until you comprehend it -- I'm sure that you must be able to glean a little bit with your advanced education. :)

The bridge was built during a Democratic administration when Johnson was skimping on bucks for infrastructure while spending big bucks on War (Vietnam). Yeah, the design was the lowest costing design. This was the main cause of the collapse - cheap design to pay for a war.

I do believe that G-d has a hand in our lives, individually and nationally. But, in our secular society today, G-d is debunked. It will take a tragedy
much more horrific than Katrina or 9-11 to open our eyes. Then again, we still will remain blind!
I grew up in the Minneapolis area. I can attest that there is major coverups and dirty dealings going on in the judicial system in that state! How do I know? I lived there and JUST recently moved the heck away from there! I also did a documentary and interviewed credible people who themselves had worked for the government! What goes around comes around. Sad to say, it's pay back time for Minnesota. G-d's Judgment has just begun in that state. More will come.
The problem is that the lawmakers in that state do not see what is going on, they are blind.
