A new al Qaeda propaganda ad, headlined "Wait for the Big Surprise" and featuring a digitally altered photograph of President George Bush and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf standing in front of a burning White House, was posted on the Internet today.
The brief clip from al Qaeda's "as Sahab" propaganda arm juxtaposes the doctored photo of Bush and Musharraf along with previously seen images of al Qaeda's top leadership -- Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Adam Gadahn -- as well as a photo of an SUV in a motorcade.
There is no additional information provided in the ad, and it closes with the words, "Soon -- God willing," written across the screen and repeated several times.

Dan,
There is an article in Wired that talks about how most of the videos and photographs are digitally 'fixed'. I couldn't understand the 'wired' stuff, but the implication was that these guys might still be in caves as they use a blue screen and add all the backgrounds.

Makes me wonder where all that talent we had in the 1940s for coming up with propaganda went, ya know, stuff like "Tokio Jokio", and "Herr Rabbit" and the like.
Or even the poster art of that time.

But of course, we can't go poking fun at the Muzzies in mass media.
That would be like, impolitic, and stuff.

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
Gotta hand it to you rednecks, you sure know how to pick a winner!!
Amen.

Chris the thing you seem unable to grasp is that we are fighting an ideology now, not just one man. I would love it if we found Osama hiding in his cave, but even if we did this war would go on.
I think that sometimes libs really don't stop to think about the size of this thing. There are something like a billion and a half muslims in the world. The vast majority of these people simply want to go about their daily lives. They don't personally want to pick up guns and kill us, but they really don't mind it when some one else does. That someone else is made up of about 10% give or take a few points either way. Do the math, what is 10% OF A BILLION AND A HALF? That many people moving easily in the vast sea ( to borrow from Mao ) of muslim people is an very, very powerful force.
Also look back at history the Nazis, Soviet Communists and the Khemer Rouge were all minority parties. L ook at the damage that they did. They pale in comparison to the size of the radical islamic movement.
Osama is now no longer in control of this thing. It has gone way beyond that. We in the west must now prove, by force if need be, that our way is better then the path of radical islam. If we don't it will and I don't think that many rank and file libs would like that out come to well, what with the stoning of gays and the treatment of women.

You can't find someone who is dead, chrissy. When was the last time OBL made a public statement that wasn't from a previous recording? Why do you think al Libi and Zawahiri are the spokesmen for AQ? Oh, I forgot, you don't think, do you, chrissy?
Posted by: templar knight | Thursday, August 02, 2007 at 10:48 AM
Ohh, he's 'dead'. Maybe he's in Syria with all of your magic 'WMD's'. Next!
Posted by: chris | Thursday, August 02, 2007 at 10:56 AM
Maybe he's in your mommy's basement with you, chrissy, as that is about as likely as him being in Syria. No, he is pushing up poppies in a field in Afghanistan, or buried in a cave in the NWFP, or we would have seen him speak. The propaganda value of OBL making new speeches and video would be too great for AQ to resist.
No, chrissy, you just hope he's alive. That is obvious from the tenor of your posts. There's not a terrorist in the World you don't like. You know, the enemy of your enemy is your friend, that's your motto.

Mommy's basement?? You cons are so childish. Such a sad bunch of 26% deadenders.
Posted by: chris | Thursday, August 02, 2007 at 11:15 AM
No, not so sad, chrissy, as 26% is a larger number than your 18%. Hahaha! You finally won an election, and now what do you do? Go right back to your losing ways. Congratulations!

I don't KNOW if Osama bin Laden is dead or not, but I DO KNOW that we have not SEEN a video of him in MANY, MANY months...
We HAVE HEARD audio tapes believed to be Osama, but NO VIDEO anymore.
We USED to see videos of him seemingly every other week...
Doesn't that suggest ANYTHING to you (like, maybe, our Military HAS been successful [not "victorious" (yet), but certainly making progress])?
Isn't it PROBABLE that he has been severely injured, and knows that it would be terrible "P.R." for his followers if they knew that he HAS been maimed by the "Great Satan" (praise be to Allah)?

Consider the fact that in May, President Bush has signed a directive granting extraordinary powers to the office of the president in the event of a declared national emergency, apparently without congressional approval or oversight. The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive" was signed May 9. The president can assume the power to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.
Now consider the huge increase in chatter over the past year - the plot to blow up a dozen airlines from US/UK earlier this year. The failed plot to blow up JFK, the huge upswing in arrents of al qaeda suspects in Europe, - Germany, Italy, France, Spain and UK - the red lights are flashing here and all intelligence agencies are stating so - cia, mossad, m15, german intelligence etc.
Add into this all the past warnings from Al Qaeda videos - especially the 2004 video from bin laden during the Presidential elections and the numberous videos from Adam Gadahn - his last one in May 2007 - he outlines a list of demands - the video, Gadahn not only reemphasizes the threats bin Laden already has made, but in essence says that time is up for Americans to consider his boss's words and implicitly warns an attack in the United States is near. http://www.crusade-media.com/news78.html
I hope i am wrong, but as the video today stated - a big event seems to be coming.

Wake up!
This is the warning before a nuclear attack. Bin Laden has already gotten permission, has asked for a truce, has warned us, has urged muslims living in the US to get out. These are all of the steps required by islam before an attack. Russia hates us and is run by organized crime and boardered by radical muslims. That is where they got them from, they are low yeild but they are planning on setting off 6 or seven at the same time, this has all been reported by reputable sources, reasearch it. IT SAYS TO CONVERT INFIDELS BY THE SWORD IN THE KORAN!!! Yes you ignorant sheep they want us dead!! and devote their lives to it. stock up on your survival gear, you can tell your wives and neighbors you are prepairing for a blizzard or hurricane so they don't think you are nuts. Do not be shocked when it happens, at least be mentally prepaired and have a plan. God Bless

zzzzzzzzzzz. oh! Who does Bin Laden ask permission of, anyway? And has there been a mass exodus of Muslims from our shores? I wonder how everyone missed that. zzzzzzzzz
Posted by: Phoenix | Thursday, August 02, 2007 at 10:31 PM
Well Phil the sad thing to say is " you could be right ". How far we have come that this is not an out of this world idea.
The bright side is that if they only pop off six or seven, once we get our shit back together there will not be any more muslim countries to worry about.
