I don't even want to get started on this latest stupidity out of NYC. This ought to ensure the demise of any talk of Bloomberg running for President, as he supports it. The would be principal has now resigned, though that's hardly enough. The whole idea should be shut down unless it's going to have close, careful supervision. See Pipes below for the reasoning behind that.
Also see MM
Daniel Pipes for some serious depth into the issue
and a grass roots site for the details on the Kahlil Gibran International Academy.
The multi-cultists should just cut to the chase and flush the whole damned country down the toilet, one culture at a time. Gee, I wonder which one they'd pick to start with? Any shred of a genuine America culture, of course.

Dan,
Don't give up on us yet. There are still some among us who love our country and value our freedoms and aren't about to see it flushed away.
In my own community, there are plans to build a huge Islamic center, which would include a convalescent home, a school, mosque, hospital, and community center. There are currently, we are told, about 60 Muslim families in the area. I'm not sure where these families reside, as I know of very few Muslims in our town. The Center would serve more than 300 families. Who knows how many individuals that would turn out to be, and where these people will come from. The Board of Supervisors is fully on board with this project. However, the citizens of our community are not. Week after week the local paper runs letters to the editor against the center. Letters "against" far outnumber the letters "for". The arguments "against" are level-headed and rational. The letters "for" tend to be full of hysterical accusations of "bigotry" etc, and pleas for "understanding" and "acceptance". The San Jose Mercury News has referred to those of us in South County who oppose the Center as "flag-waving yahoos."
This is taking place in, of all places, California - a sort-of rural area south of San Jose. Not exactly a hotbed of conservativism. I don't know if we'll be able to beat the system on this issue, but we're not going down without a fight.

Funny how when things hit close to home politics takes a back seat.

Yes, exactly. I've been in CA for almost 8 years now. Coming from Texas, and the Midwest before that, it was an adjustment - to say the least :)
But if even liberal Californians can think rationally when necessary, there may be hope for our country yet.
