Actually, I don't dislike Dick Morris, I just think he's so caught up in Clinton-like calculation when it comes to politics, you can't find any real center to the man:
The Republican senators are coming to realize that Bush needs to begin to pull out to save his party, even if it puts Iraq at risk. With the president’s favorability down to 29 percent in the USA Today poll, and 26 percent in Newsweek, the party leaders are coming to realize that they are not planning to join Bush in retirement — at least not yet — and that unless he begins the pullout, the GOP cannot hold on to the White House.
And he often wraps his calculations in hyperbole which gives them a lot of flash, but his analysis of people, as opposed to politics and politicians, leaves something to be desired. America may be un-happy with the war in Iraq and its progress. I don't see it as the over-riding issue going into 2008.

You are wrong....So wrong you don't even know how wrong you are. I have been visiting this blog for a while. No disrespect - but you have been wrong about LOTS of things related to bush and his criminal enterprise, including the illegal invasion and occupation of iraq. Its strange: Repubs were swept from both houses, repubs are up to their belts in scandal, war approval is down to +/- 26% (trending down all the time), Bush approval down also, cheney so low you would need a microscope to find the number, $12 billion A MONTH to fight the furriners, etc....You get my point. Your points don't matter any longer. You carry water for bush. you cheerlead for him, you would even go so far as to welcome him as a king - as long as you felt 'safe' from brown people. And still again - you are wrong.

What do you see as the over-riding issue? The terrible failure of Pres. Fredo's WOT???

"....Clinton-like calculation..." You were nice about that one. Why not call it loathing obsession.
Morris isn't stupid, but he has a tabloid mentality that makes what he says seem sleazy no matter how astute it is. Actually, 'mentality' is not the right word - a tabloid aspect. Someone needs to train him to quit smiling when he talks, too. When he's hammering the Clintons, he looks gleeful. Waste of a good mind.
The issue going into 2008 is how to keep the libs out. That's way more important than Iraq at this point.

"What do you see as the over-riding issue?"
Illegal immigration - homeland security and taxes ... get used to it, it's going to be that way at least until 2012. And the tax element will never go away. Sadly, we lose more people on our highways every year than we have in five years in Iraq. And the more the Dems try to re-live the summer of love, the more they'll get screwed - figuratively speaking, of course. Also look for health care to swing towards the GOP. People hate HMO's but the thought of a USHMO scares them even more.

Mark this date -- I agree with Dan. Dick Morris is a weasel - means he's a fully qualified Republican.
