The Weekly Standard has an extended update from Iraq regarding TNR's Scott Thomas diaries, which are now starting to look even more like fiction. see link
There may be small grains of truth to what Scott Thomas has written. But, I can tell you that at least one event he's described as "fact" could not have occurred. To claim that an entire chain of command was complicit in keeping quiet such a grisly and important discovery of such magnitude stretches the realm of believability and is a grave insult to the professionalism and dedication of so many fine Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines serving here.
Also Gateway Pundit has something from MNF-I claiming no knowledge of any events similar to those TNR published as fact.
And as for Franklin Foer and TNR? Don't let the sound of crickets worry you, they aren't real either.
TNR better get on the ball if it wants to come out of this with any credibility left at all.

"if it wants to come out of this with any credibility left at all."
Unfortunately, the Associated Press has set the modern "gold standard" regarding journalistic integrity. i.e. none is required, so I'm, suspecting TNR thinks they can simply weather the storm with stonewalling and denials.
