The One Question Pollsters Never Seem To Ask

I've read a great many polls on the Iraq War over the years: Do you approve / disapprove of its handling? Should we have invaded? Should Congress fund the war?

Does anyone remember a poll on the most important question of all? Do you want the United States to win in Iraq?

That certainly cuts through a lot of clutter and I can't recall ever seeing it asked in a simple, straightforward manner.

My guess as to whether America wants our troops to win in Iraq? Yes, yes, I believe we do. Unfortunately, we may never know unless, or until someone asks the question.
