I don't know if it's all Brits, or just their media - evidently, via Ace, the population takes terrorism seriously:
The survey suggested that terrorism, graffiti, crime and dog mess were all of more concern than climate change.
But then you read something like this: I didn't realize it was a bad thing to sound Churchill-ian. Geesh! They appear to want to play defense against an enemy that never does.
Hours after four suicide bombers killed 52 London bus and subway passengers on July 7, 2005, Blair delivered a speech with echoes of Winston Churchill, vowing: "When they try to intimidate us, we will not be intimidated ... we will not be changed."
Brown's message—in one brief televised statement and a longer TV interview—can be summarized as "keep calm and carry on."
The stern Scot's few public statements have been somber, measured and brief. Many Britons welcome the change, saying the lower-key approach may better reassure a rattled nation and prevent racial tensions from exploding.
"We need to be calm about it," said Duncan Walls, 64, a retired lawyer walking through a London on "critical" terror alert after Friday's failed double car-bombing and Saturday's fiery Jeep attack on Glasgow airport.
"I'm glad to say the abrasiveness of Blair and (former Home Secretary John) Reid, in particular, is no longer evident," he added.
Brown's response to the attacks has won praise from allies and foes alike.
On Tuesday, the head of the Muslim Council of Britain, Muhammad Abdul Bari, lauded Brown and Home Secretary Jacqui Smith for the "calm and reassuring tone of their responses to the recent attacks."

Yup, that hot cross bun of Dhimmitude is *_just_* about ready to come out of its Holocaustic ovens.
All they need now is for Prince Chuckles to take the throne as Britain's first Dhimmi King, George VII -- if and when QE2 ever decides to kick the bucket. But methinks she will hang on to dear life for another 50 or so years, just to spite him, and possibly attempt to preserve Britain's status of Christendom as long as possible.

The Twitish have terrorism and dog turds on the same alert level?
"But methinks she will hang on to dear life for another 50 or so years, just to spite him, ..."
hahaha...... The prince is looking a bit pinched with impatience, doesn't he? He'll be using a walker to gain the throne if this keeps up.

I think Harry's just going to leapfrog his way to Kingdom, to be honest. Prince Charles is, like, the posterchild for defunct British Royalty.
