Al Hamira, the village from which Michael Yon is reporting on a massacre, see here and here for an update, a massacre all but ignored by the MSM, was already on al Qaeda's map, even if Michael Yon didn't find it labeled on his. We know that from dated dispatches from the Mujahedeen Shura Council of Iraq:
- Sniper shot two crusaders in Al-Hamira area. 7/8/2006
- Bombarding a gathering of the crusaders in Al-Hamira area with two 120mm mortar bombs, the hits were on target. 9/8/2006.
All praise and gratitude be to Allah.
Still, according to what passes for mainstream media today, a small village where from 10 - 14+ Iraqi men, women and children lost their heads and or feet, in some cases - and in each case their life, simply does not exist according to those who insist we have a right to know things we may not like hearing about. Does that hold true for things they might not like us hearing about? It's hard to tell given this experience. As of now, it is nowhere to be found via Google News except on the Jawa Report. Oops, that just changed a few minutes ago.
Now there is this via Yahoo News - albeit in an opinion piece by Jack Kelly:

AP Reports on the Wrong MassacreJack Kelly
25 minutes agoThis tale of two atrocities -- one that happened and one that didn't -- suggests why so many Americans "know" so much about the war in Iraq that isn't so.
Twenty beheaded bodies were discovered on the banks of the Tigris river near the city of Salman Pak, Sinan Salaheddin of the Associated Press reported June 28.
Will that be enough to put al Hamira on the map? Hard to say. But bloggers can at least do their part to Remember al Hamira. After all, that worked at the Alamo, once.

So is the surge working, then? How come we never hear any good news coming out of Iraq, Dan?
