More: Truly inspiring:
Walker, who police said does not attend school, went willingly with his mother to the police station for questioning eight days after the attack but denied he was involved.
He said he had heard about the attack, but said he had spent the night at his mother's apartment, the police report states.
Police noted, though, that he sometimes stayed with friends at Dunbar Village.
Police had Walker's palm print because he had been arrested previously, spokesman Ted White said. Walker previously had been charged with loitering and trespassing, White said.
His mother, Ruby Nell Walker, has been arrested nine times on charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault with intent to do bodily harm. His father, also named Nathan Walker, has been arrested eight times.
The teen stayed only sporadically with his mother and younger sister at the Rosewood Apartments on Brandywine Drive, said Amanda Canady, who lives across from the Walkers' apartment. He spent most of his time with friends at Dunbar Village, where he liked to play basketball, she said.
"He says it's boring out here," Canady said.

"I love my son," the father said. "I'm going to stick by him. I don't teach violence to my son, so it really puzzles me. Maybe he's just hanging out with the wrong crowd. I don't know."
Yeah, that's it. Maybe Ruby shouldn't have taken her love to town, - just a thought.
You know, like Nathan Walker and Avion Lawson, who with a gang of eight other boys put on masks, gang raped a woman and also forced her 12 year-old son to take part. Can we just put them down, now, please? I really have no interest in reading of their tragic life of poverty and neglect, blah blah blah.
Walker's mother assures us he has a good heart. I wonder if it was beating when they poured cleaning products into the 12 year-old's eyes?
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes.
Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18.
The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed. Authorities said the two would be charged as adults.
The victims told police they were forced back into their home and beaten and sexually assaulted. According to authorities, the men raped, sodomized and beat the woman, then forced her son to participate in the assault at gunpoint, making him have sex with his mother in front of them.
The boy was then beaten and had numerous household cleaning liquids poured into his eyes, according to the police report.
The suspects also stole a few hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry, White said.

This happened about 15 miles from me.
"Maybe he's just hanging out with the wrong crowd. I don't know."
Just a thought, but as a parent, its your freaking job to know what crowd he's hanging out with.

The perfect example of "Progressive" parenting. We will see more of this as the libs try to re-establish the control they had before the Republicans rolled back the welfare state.
It seems that we need a short (hopefully) reminder as to why we kicked out the libs in the first place.

Why are humans at the top of the food chain? I could understand it if some were made to eat their young.

This is just another example of what happen when people fail to listen to God and heed His word as to how to raise a family... to say nothing of how we have almost completely acquiesced and retreated from godly morals and discipline to raise children.
We've sowed the seeds for an "anything goes" culture that is only concerned about seeing the next insipid episode of some hell-i-vision programming, or some other vapid, worthless bit of our pop culture and consumerist ego-stroking that we crave... and this is the whirlwind of wickedness and depravity that we are reaping as the result.

Will jesse jackson show up for some face time and offer to send the boys to college with the chick who fingered the Lacrosse team at Durham? jesse can afford it as he has lots of green from the Rainbow/PUSH fortune. That's where he gets the money from to support Karen Stanford and their love child. Last I heard, she was taking him for 100Gs per year; says it's rough living in the upscale part of LA. Not bad for a chick who started working for him for 20Gs who got confused trying to operate the reception desk at Rainbow/PUSH.

At this point we only have some news coverage of alleged criminal activity. Even though this is a story of potential black on black crime, lets let the system do it's work and report only known issues and leave the judgments of guilt to the court system.

Uh...SouthDakotaBoy? We've been under Republican Right Wing rule for almost 8 years now...how you can equate policies influenced by Liberals as responsible for this barbaric act is the same as your "Boy Bush" finding a correllation between Hussein and Al Queada to substantiate a war for oil that has accomplished nothing except kill innocent people including over 3000 of our own soldiers...some of them my close friends. So go back and stick your head back up your arse and make yourself feel oh so big and powerful when you take out your little pop gun and shoot a couple of tin cans pretending they are something actually alive.

Got news for you 4NewJersey the Libs spent decades creating this welfare mess that has destroyed the African American community in order to build an enslaved voting block. Further more the libs constantly block any true efforts to help the poor in the African American community.
The libs are going to throw the black community under the bus now that the Latin community is the fastest growing minority. The libs don't really want to help people they are just interested in getting and keeping power.

They forced the 12 year-old, at gunpoint, to rape his own mother. This is the most disturbing aspect of this story.
Youth violence and fearlessness of authority is generally becoming bolder and bolder. I know: I was an inner-city teacher for 10 years before I quit. I was a liberal Democrat until I became a teacher. Then I saw that their failures had nothing to do with poverty or "racism", but rather, lack of personal responsibility and their own bad choices.
Youth pathology in this country is growing like a tsunami -- you won't realize it until it hits. Then it will be too late. I fear if we continue to enable such libertinism through liberal welfare and criminal policies, we're in real danger of losing our liberty.

"wow, the comments here are almost as crazy and messed up as this heinous crime."
So tru. ONE THING IS NOT THE REASON. Yes, the poor need to take responsibilty BUT also there are racist practices (even in school systems) that make it VERY HARD. It is a cycle. Picking a side and pointing the blame is just as IGNORANT as participating in it. IT IS OUR PROBLEM on BOTH sides and both sides need to fix it. Because (as a DC resident), I know that there are ALOT of willing kids ready to learn who do not even have enough funding to even get books that are dated after the 1980s. It is like the chicken or the egg arguement... WHO CARES? did the school system fail because it had students who did not value education? or, did students develop a low regard for education once they realized that the government did not value their education? Again, WHO CARES? for far TOO long the arguement has been, WHY IS IT LIKE THIS? It needs to be WHAT CAN WE ALL, i repeat ALL, of us do to fix it. A generation of Black inner city youth are DYING and BEING UNDERDEVELOPED by themselves and others. Who knows if we are presently ruiningthe next MLK jr or Colin Powell. This is not a political issue, a class issue. WE NEED TO CARE ON BOTH SIDES!

HOW WE CAN HELP:
The mother is educated and they are practicing Catholics, described as good, decent people. They are legal Haitian immigrants who were temporarily living in the project. They kept to themselves and chose not to associate with the "hip-hop" element. This may have been why they were targeted for attack by the perpetrators, all described as black male teenagers.
A fund has been established at St. Ann's parish, the victims' church, to help them to move and get counseling.
You can write a check and mail it to:
Dunbar Victims Assistance Fund,

there are a group of many people who want more attention to this case and to bring these scumbags to justice.
we have written to oprah, jesse jackson, al sharpton, cbs, nbc, abc and yes, even fox with the following simple message using the email forms on their sites. please copy and paste or revise to your liking and send along to help increase the awareness, pressure, and justice for this horrible animalistic crime. notifying even more news outlets is even better...as well as anyone else you may know who might be willing to help.
news website links:
oprah: http://www.oprah.com/email/email_landing.jhtml
al sharpton email: show@SharptonTalk.net

nbc: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10285339/
fox: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,77538,00.html
To whom it may concern:
I am one of many concerned citizens and I am writing to request that your news outlet give more publicity to the June 18th West Palm Beach Rape by Avion Lawson and Nathan Walker (and the other attackers once identified) as written about here: http://cbs13.com/national/topstories_story_187172400.html
There needs to be more press and attention and seriousness given to this case as many people are outraged. The rest of the attackers need to be found and there needs to be press to make an example out of them and the disgusting low level nature of this crime. This is not a political issue, or a racial issue, this is a human issue -- dealing with human rights, dignity and torture. and the rights of all women everywhere!
There also needs to be an announcement about how to help the victims. The woman and her son need emotional support. People not residing in Florida can donate a check payable to :
St. Ann's Victim Assistance Fund
C/O Wachovia Bank
4441 Beacon Circle
West Palm Beach, FL 33407
Thank you,

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will only address such incidents when they can scream "racism". Because the victims here were black, I doubt they'd bother. They'd have to address deeper issues WITHIN the black community like hip-hop youth's distain of educated, law-abiding black folks, and the predominance of gangsta culture among their own youth.
Oprah is more genuine and honest; hope she picks up on it.
PS: Why hasn't Al Shapton apologized for his shamefully slandering the Duke lacrosse players and inciting the local community with charges of "racism"?? The man is a demagogue.

What kind of low lives do these things? Why should we waste time giving them treatment and counseling? For what so they can come out worse and blame society for putting them down? they need to learn how to take responsability for their actions. No one is to blame but themselves.
Ship all these wanna be gangsters to Iraq! We are losing good people in this war, send all this filth to the front lines! If they survive then that would probably be the best treatment they could get, see the realities of war and learn how to appreciate life.

If Avion Lawson's Dad think Avion has been hanging out with the wrong crowd, which may have caused him to participate in the gang rape assault, robbery, etc of the Florida Mom and Son; from the sound of the parents' criminal background, they are obviously the wrong crowd that this kid has been hanging around-having both been arrested on more than numerous occasions for violent activity, come on now; what the ---- do they think? And, 7th Grade? This kid need a good --- whipping, and Juvenile Hall is exactly where he will be receiving it. He is where he need to be. Why would his grandmother, and parents allow him to run semi-homeless in the streets; and, at such a young age. Generational curses are permeating that family; and, only God can help them all. I pity them all for not even realizing the severity of what has even happened. That is what makes me fear being around my own people. When are we going to look at ourselves, and straighten up? Successful Blacks, The Government, etc can try helping people all day long; but, if individuals do not desire a better way to go, all the help in the world will not be enough. This is a "within" thing. What is in us, is what will come out. If the devil is there, devilish activity is coming out. And, too many people don't care that that is what they represent. Everybody (rich, poor, black, white, police, politician, etc) need to take a sudden time-out and go to somebody's church, to realize what everybody is missing in their lives-God! If we think this heinous crime was something, we haven't seen nothing yet. God is trying to tell us all something! We better perk up and listen-and, this means everybody; especially those who have children. If our children are not the ones committing the crimes, they and us will at some point be affected by it via victimization or some other means. There is no hiding it. This incident is only one of the many that have been brought to the forefront of National News. Each State need to gain a grip on it's residents; youth in particular. And, leave the Immigration, African-American Discrimination practices alone. There are more important things to be paying attention to; and, trying to fix-that have existed a very long time.
