Updated: Liberation Begins At Home

Up2: Newsday has it on line.

President Bush commuted the sentence of former aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby Monday, sparing him from a 2 1/2-year prison term in the CIA leak case.

Bush left intact a $250,000 fine and two years probation for Libby, according to a senior White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision had not been announced.

Word from Fox News, as well as Drudge still w/o a link is Bush will commute sentence of Libby. The Left will go bonkers.

I believe a combination of inside pressures and outside forces will eventually have to liberate much of the Middle-east if we are to mostly eliminate the threat from radical Islam. But as with most things, liberation begins at home. Bush needs to step up and liberate Scooter Libby now.

Lets be clear, as the left goes bonkers, that this is not a pardon. It is a commutation. A commutation is distinct from a pardon, which is a complete eradication of a conviction record making it the same as if the person has never been convict... [Read More]

yes, pardoning libby for his kangaroo-court non-crime conviction would certainly be The Right Thing To Do.

which is why it won't happen. bush has demonstrated time & again he's not particularly interested in The Right Thing. a partial list: mewling "islam is not our enemy" post 9-11; the clownish halfassed iraqi occupation; pretending he "didn't see" the attacks of war committed on our guys by *uniformed* iranian troops; buying votes by spending like a drunken sailor; 6 years before his first veto; an unbuilt border fence; unenforced immigration laws; border patrol guys sent to jail as a message to the rest; allowing dipshits like mineta & chertoff & gonzalez longtime employment.....

so we're surprised by the libby non-pardon *why*?

How many good men have faced Scooter's hardship? They locked up Tommy Chong for nine whole months. And for what? Nothin' but breaking a law that's just designed to keep a guy guy down. They locked up Budda, and MLK, and Hitler too. Buncha fascists, this world is run by. Remember Tianamin Square! Remember the Alamo! Fight the power! Stick it to the man! Free Libby!!!

The poor soul above is a douche bag of inordinate proportions.

Well, about damn time. I thought Bush was going to sit on this till Libby was getting dragged Paris Hilton-style down to the slammer. It's comforting to know that perjury is no longer a crime in the United States. Bill Clinton will be releaved.

Chrisse Matthews and Olbies heads must be spinning like tops, with spit spewing everything in sight. Too bad I never watch them to see the sight. The twelve viewers they have will be the only ones to see it.

This calls for a barroom brawl like the one we had with the Cliterati of the Tampons. But it's only really fun with a bunch of stupid women. I wish Dan would say something anti-feminist.

So, the republican'ts are soft on crime, indifferent to national security and don't believe in accepting personal responsibility.
And you think this is a good thing?

Where is the Boob's momma when she is needed? She has allowed him to soil the good name of Stamford, CT; allowed to copy the prose style of cartoonists; and apparently never even given him a lesson is how to act like a decent human being in society. Bad seed? Indeed.
