You are perhaps being a little too hard on Cole. I read on his or some other site that he was diagnosed with a double whammy of bad things early last year. First he learned that he had something called Peyronie's disease, and shortly thereafter, a suspicion held by many was confirmed when he was told that he also suffers from Gilles de la Tourette's syndrome.

Janis Joplin was probably one of the greatest performers I ever had the priveledge of seeing live. And I saw a lot of the greats: Jimi Hendrix,The Grateful Dead, the Byrds, The Who and many more. But she put herself out there totally - it just felt incredibly real. I don't think there is any female performer since who can duplicate what she did on stage. Thank you for reminding me.

That blog is still up and running? Sheesh......I stopped reading that a couple of years ago. He went from mildly amusing to downright cranky and bitter almost overnight. He seems to have undergone some form of personality transplant.

Please...no more filthy, drug-addled hippies. Janis Joplin was part of the movement that contributed greatly to the deterioration of American culture. Her and her ilk should be reviled instead of worshipped. Good riddance to her.

John is that you?

Oh Please. Another asshole claiming hippies ruined the culture of America. It was a passing thing that most grew out of and went on to join the 'Greed is Good' gang. The leftover hippies deserve the bean sprouts they eat for lunch for thinking eras never pass into oblivion..... or, should I say filter on by astride the continuum of history.

And hail be to the music of those years. There's never been anything like it since. Not even close.
